Wake Up, I'm Fat!: A Memoir

Thanks so much to Camryn for her story. I laughed and cried so much while reading this book. Her stories are real life (somewhat embellished, she admits) insights on the prejudice fat women and men experience everyday. It is refreshing to see her words in print. I could relate to all of her experiences with her parents and "friends". Congrats on the birth of her son.

Beautifully written by Camryn.What a strong, talented and determined individual.

I have always admired Camryn Manheim in "The Practice". Rarely do you find big women with good roles that aren't demeaning too. I just finished reading her book and think it was fantastic. For anyone who thinks fat people are just lazy and that's why we're fat should read this book. The idea of writing a journal and talking to your fat as if it's another person is a good one and I'm going to try it. I still have a ways to go before I am comfortable with my body but this book helps me know that I am not alone. Thanks for writing such a great book!

just what I wanted!

I enjoyed this book very much and with weight issues since I was twelve, could relate to some of her issues but love her honesty and humor!

This was both an intertaining a introspective read. Camryn Manheim is funny, smart, human, and beautiful. This book made me look at the excuses I make for my failures and the things I allow to stand in the way of my success. I was able to relate to Camryn much more than I could relate to Oprah when I read her book. It is a book for all women, all mothers, and a book I would want my boyfriend to read. Thank you Camryn, I wish we could meet some day.

She's funny, bold, and very opinionated. She tells it like it is and I love it. I gave my copy away to a friend of mine with the same kind of personality as Camryn and now I want a copy for myself.
