Sentinel GPS Speed & Red Light Camera Detector, Physical Laser & Radar Detection and Inbuilt Front & Rear Car Camera

The Radar / Laser / Dash Cam features were deciding factors in procuring this product.Unfortunately, the GPS receiver was less than satisfactory.Given a clear, unobstructed sky view, the GPS was slow, if not erratic in collecting satellite data, even with the Unit outside the car.At first, this was attributed to the Unit downloading the GPS Almanac information, which takes approx 5-15 minutes to load. Once installed, the Unit's GPS system is then aware of the various satelites orbital paths information.This procedure was eventually concluded successfully and the Unit could be switch ON and OFF and the system would acquire GPS positioning almost immediately.However, if left for several hours with the car (Unit switched OFF), in the same position, the GPS would not lock on, despite repeated attempts to acquire even one satellite.The Unit was successfully returned via the Amazon return option and 2 weeks later a further Unit was ordered with the thought that the original Unit's GPS system was faulty.Unfortunately, exactly the same problem was encounted and the Unit was again returned.Clearly, there is a fundemental problem with the DriveSmart Sentinel and sadly, what should have been a useful product is not fit for purpose.

Got a ticket even though, it was installed did see the camera or the speeding limite. Doesn't syn properly, not accurate

Adverse updates every 2 weeks, last one now 7 months ago don’t buy you can’t get answers

I brought one direct from the company. I was hoping that the road speed limit would be shown all the time (It is not), It announces "speed camera detected", it is not usually on the road you are travelling, it matched nicely with static cameras off the side of the motorway (In my mind that is a false positive AND not a detection but a stored location from memory), There are locations that mark camera signs (no camera)/ Between London and Wales, I was hit by K band radar (the oldest form), nothing higher to be able to say if anything else was there. I was given a number of warnings of exceeding a 30mph limit whilst travelling on the Motorway. I do not regret buying, but to me it is buggy, but I wanted to know if I was likely to break any speed law as limits do change. If you have a smart phone mount, then Waze and Speed Trap Alert (apps together) are live together make for a good usable non radar detector. Did have one issue with the apps, on the Port Talbot M4, when I had cleared the average speed camera stretch it didn't clear and you can't touch a phone on the move, so average speed climbed until i was getting constant alerts :(

Totally unreliable product waste of money

Worked out the box but after inputting some info, sound went although speaker symbol ok. Passed 2 speed traps and a traffic cops speed gun, nothing, despite activating all the radar stuff on the menu. Alerts only go off if a speed trap is on the GPS. and that goes even if it no longer exists. Ok if one does a lot of night driving when a speed trap is not visible, otherwise save your money.
