Highly effective and fume-free
The prior owners of my home had a long, narrow bath mat with a rectangular grid on the underside. How do I know that? Because when I moved in I found that the bottom of the tub was covered with dark gray hard water stains in the form of a long, narrow rectangular grid.Comet plus elbow grease didn't put a dent in it. Neither did vinegar and baking soda, Scrubbing Bubbles plus bleach, or Kaboom. Those all left the surface feeling nice and smooth, though, so I figured this stain just went too deep to be touched. Then I bought a steam cleaner, because I hate breathing fumes from cleaning agents and had thought of several potential uses around the place. When I tried it on the tub I noticed that the steam was actually fading the stain slightly, so I really went to town on it. After a lot of effort I realized it was going to take many, many steamings to really get rid of the stain, if it was actually possible. But knowing the stain could be faded sent me looking for other ways to clean porcelain, and when I saw this brick of artificial pumice I gave it a shot. The chance of a cheap, low-tech, fume-free method of getting this stain off was too much to ignore....And it worked. My tub is gleaming after maybe 30 minutes of work. And now I won't have to buy a new tub (or conceal the stain like the real estate stagers did) when it's time to sell.Get the brick wet and press down a bit while you scrub --- I had to keep reminding myself to press down --- and this thing will grind away tub stains. Switch it around in your hand from time to time to keep it wearing evenly, because it wears pretty fast. Rinse off the porcelain a few times during the process so you can see what spots you're missing. Stand the brick on end for touch-up work around the drain and where the tub floor meets the walls.

Large block
It’s 1 very large brick. I was expecting 2or 4 smaller ones. Wanted to use it in the toilet bowl for hard water stains. Too big. I should have paid more attention to the size. Otherwise what I expected.

Pumice Stone
I use the pumice stone to remove paint and other stuff from my concrete flooring before resealing again. Works wonders. Thank you.

Good scrubbing brick
For those who don't know it, natural pumice is a volcanic rock. Spewed from volcanoes, the rock has hot volcanic gasses trapped inside it. As it cools, it becomes a very light, porous material with an abrasive texture. Surprisingly, some varieties can even float on water. This product is a man-made variety. The brick is unexpectedly large, almost the size of a common masonry brick. Gray in color, it's texture is very similar to very light concrete. Setting it down, produces a "clink" sound identical to concrete. As an abrasive, it's very effective. I bought mine to scrape lime deposits from a toilet bowl. It does NOT seem to damage hard porcelain surfaces. I was surprised at how quickly it wears down in use though. For my task, a second brick might prove necessary. I needed a smaller brick to get into tighter areas so I tried to chisel the brick into smaller chunks with a hammer and screwdriver. This works but it takes some time and effort. I have found the smaller "sticks" of pumice available at hardware stores are cheaper than at Amazon, but if you need a big brick of the stuff, this is probably where to find it.

It did what I wanted it to do.
Scrape the ring in toilet and buildup around faucet. It worked very well. Was broken off a little at the end but was able to use small pieces for small areas.

Effective!
This product is very effective in the removal of lime scale for bath and/or shower. I have had limescale in my shower and I bought several products to remove it without success. This worked with a bit of scrubbing. Success.

Exactly what I needed.
although it took longer to get here than I expected, This is exactly what I needed... 2 things I wanted to accomplish with these... get rid of the unsightly ring in the toilet which it did, and remove a coating I had put on our tile floor to make it non slick, which it is doing... But I will probably need to place one more order to get the job done. Be sure and wear some heavy plastic gloves if you are using this as I can see where it would tear up hands... nothing works like a little elbow grease... yes its work but its paying off!
