This product is in a league of its own, and the five-star rating is absolutely earned. ​Application: The sealant is thick, but it flows exactly where you need it to go. I applied it easily using a standard caulking gun. The self-leveling property is fantastic; it beautifully filled small voids and gaps around the flashing without me having to tool it much. It adheres immediately to everything—metal, asphalt shingle, and masonry. ​Performance & Cure: I applied this on a cool afternoon, and it skinned over quickly. I've used many different sealants and this is the best by far. The consistency is a little thicker than most, but smooth. It's very trowelable and fills voids well. Setting time is a little on the fast side which is preferable in most cases. It cures to a very solid yet semi-flexible mass that reminds me of the better rubber creating products. Adhesion is strong on a wide range of surfaces. Geocell should consider offering it in a 64 oz tub for use in troweling setting beds for flashing work. Add the ability to use it under water and you have sealant paradise!

This stuff is amazing. I used it to seal roof nails and the seal the flashing. Dries quickly (can actually be used when it’s raining) and sealed everything up. Then I went camping and my RV had a leak. I remembered I had this in my truck. I put it on the spot I suspected was leaking in the pouring rain. The leak stopped immediately. I’m sold! Best stuff ever.

Overly drippy. Makes a mess. Definitely don’t use on anything remotely vertical

Just a heads up, you should probably use this as much as you can within the first 3-9 months. I opened the tube @ January, and left 1/3 of it for next season - I stored it indoors. It hardened in the tube. It hardened from both the tail end, and the spout end. About 2-3 tbsp in the center of the tube was still good. I'm not really complaining- the product seemed easy to use, and seems recommended by professionals. I'm just saying - it's probably a good idea to use it all up. Don't keep it around for next season's "just in case". I pulled a couple inches of dried stuff out of the nozzle, and could squeeze a couple tbsps out, so I thought I was good. I was not good, that was all that was left. To judge your date of manufacture: Look at the hollow bottom of the tube (where the plunger presses against). You should see a printed code, like, "ER1672ER". First two letters= where it was made Next three digits= day of the year (167th day of the year in my case) Next digit= year (2022 in my case) From the Geocel website: How do I read the lot/batch code? Lot numbers are an important component in the manufacturing process as a tracking mechanism for inventory, complaints, sales history and quality control. It is also a beneficial tool for our customers as the lot numbers identify the time frame for when a product was manufactured. Most of our lot numbers consist of an eight-digit, alpha-numeric code. The first two letters in the code indicate where the product was manufactured. The next three digits represent the day within the year. For example, a product with a lot number of ER1016RB is translated as the 101st day of the year, with the “6” representing the year—2016. Or, said another way, the product was manufactured in early April of 2016. The location of the code can be found near the bottom of the packaging on either the cartridge plunger or around the UPC code area.

Needed to seal down some architectural shingles that got lifted in an 80 mph wind shear. I was luckier than most, my shingles didn't tear or break. In the past, I had mixed results with cheap asphalt repair products. They all instructed laying a house brick on the repair overnight. I had numerous repairs , so that wasn't an option. Besides, who wants to go back up on a 25 foot roof the next day to see if it worked or carry 30 bricks up there. A friend that works as a roofing contractor recommended this Geocel 4500. He said to wait for a sunny day and just hold the repair down with my hand for about a minute. He laughed about the house brick thing. This stuff is the real deal. I treated it like contact adhesive. Apply it to the surface, press it down, pull it apart slightly, then put your weight on it to seal it down. This stuff sticks! Did all the lifted shingles in about 45 minutes. I wore an old pair of mechanic's gloves and just threw them out when done. It's pretty unforgiving if you get it on you . Had another storm roll through a couple days later and every repair held firm. Only 45 mph wind this time, but they held. I didnt have any problem with hardening in the tube. I must've got a fresh batch. I set it in the sun on an asphalt driveway for a couple of hours before I started. It was nice and pliable on a 75 degree day. This worked as advertised.
