Easy to use
Laser Engraver, A5 Pro Full-Metal Laser Engraving Machine with 5.5W Compressed Optical Spot, Quick Assembly, Laser Cutter for Wood, Acrylic, Metal, Leather, Pet Tag, 400x410mmGreat machine that puts together in ten minutes easily. We had it up and working much faster and easier than expected. We chose to use LaserGRBL software with it because it's free. This engraver works great with that software. All of our projects have come out fantastic! We have done projects using both wood and metal and came out impressive and professional looking! This is a great laser engraver for beginners, like us, as you can just open this and start with literally no knowledge of engraving. The assembly instructions are straightforward and simple to follow. The software I mentioned is a free download and is also aimed toward beginners, so nothing complicated. This is a very cool engraver and functions perfectly. Highly recommended.

Smooth movement all around!
This is a fantastic laser engraver for amateurs like myself because of the forgiveness that it has. The wheels on the frame move easily and smoothly to the touch making it easy to correct a movement if something goes wrong and to reset the device. It is advertised as being ‘safety goggle free’ because of the green protector, and I don’t see why this wound’t be true. Personally, I still wear safety goggles if I’m engraving anything, especially wood, because tiny slivers might find their way through the cracks, but if you aren’t paranoid then I think this advertisement is accurate. The green color also stands out and makes a bit of an aesthetic appeal. The frame is made out of a really durable and heavy metal which is ideal for laser engravers. Because this one uses such force when engraving, it is important that the frame stays stil by use of its individual weight and this one has always stayed sturdy.I think this is a great engraver for first timers looking to make fun and simple sketches on wood and other like materials. Personally, I’ve been so impressed by its impressions on wood that I can’t stop messing around on there. The laser is bright and accurate as well as sharp and forgiving if you need to restart to make minor changes. I highly recommend!

Easy setup and programming!
The media could not be loaded. First off I am a laser novice. I have experience with cnc machining, but with how simple setup and programming was (I used lasergrbl and it was super easy) anyone with simple mechanical inclination could use this.(Sound in video was a shop vac, laser is pretty quiet)Pros- Super easy step by step instructions and every step was separated into bags which was very convenient and made it a breeze.- the programs suggested were Lasergrbl (free and simple) and light burn (paid sub required but more features). I used lasergrbl and setup was a breeze, plus it takes imported files like gcode and picture formats, and translates them into templates that you can mess with. That pikachu Pokémon took me about 10 mins to figure out how to do, and most settings were default.- Not expensive for a hobby laser. And is a good size! It’s a bit on the bigger size as it takes almost 2/3s of my workbench.Cons- only con is fumes. Which is understandable and I will be getting a cheap extractor to offset that.Overall a great hobby laser! I will be using mine to engrave logos and pc cases. I will update when I try other materials, but highly recommended to anyone looking to get into this!

Just a great intro laser engraver
Not that this laser engraver can't do most things one would like to try with a decent laser engraver, but the point is that this one is simple to put together (do read and follow the instructions if this is your first laser) and while like any laser engraver, there is a learning curve to understand what the best settings will be for the different materials (wood, glass, leather, etc.) as well as if you are attempting to cut through thin wood or simply engrave an image on it. I have used LaserGRBL and find it to be a great (plus free) piece of software that will allow you to use this laser engraver. If you have been wanting to try out a new hobby and maybe make some unique gifts for friends and family (imagine a newborn photo engraved on a heart-shaped piece of wood that can hang on baby's first Christmas tree as an example), this is an excellent laser engraver to get you started.

Great engraver for beginners or pros
I purchased this to be able to do some custom wood coasters for a relative's wedding. Now, I've been bitten by the engraving bug. This thing went together way faster and easier than I had expected. I was actually dreading the whole project thinking I'd spend a whole day assembling, setting up, getting it to interface with software, etc. But that was wrong! within 20 minutes I had the engraver assembled, hooked up and starting to talk with the PC. There are plenty of free engraving software packages online. I have experience with 3D printers and slicing software so there wasn't much of a learning curve for me but your mileage may vary depending on experience. It worked fantastic on the wooden coaster blanks. The instructions were easy to follow. Everything was in the box and went together as expected. And seems to be pretty powerful and able to handle a range of materials.

Great engraving performance on materials, probably needs a little more safety features
I had experience with laser in work and laser engraver before that the assembly and set up is relatively easy. The frame is pretty rigid and fixed focusing is convenient and no complicated focusing adjustment process. It's pretty powerful with sufficient energy to directly engrave on the metal surface like Aluminum or stainless steel without using masks. The laser beam is pretty sharp for engraving and cutting. Overall a very useful engraver with a large coverage area. Due to its high power way over 0.5W, it is clearly a Class IV laser that could cause hazards in use without proper protection. I can't fully agree with the statement "You and the people around can watch laser engraving without wearing goggles. " In addition, I think it would be better to provide some interlock features for working in an enclosure box for additiona safety.
