I use it for a paver brick project. It went well, but they are not for starters. You should have some experience in laying bricks. It didn't go as expected, but it was all right. In the end, I have to remove them forcefully. They can be used in different ways.

Worked as expected for thin brick grout lines.

I initially bought the white 3/8 four-sided spacers. Halfway through laying the tile, I got frustrated not being able to stand the spacers up. Consequently, I ended up laying them down by eye. The result was inaccurate grout lines. I eventually removed the tiles and mortar with a chisel and hammer, starting over again. A 2-hour job turned into a two day job.SMH The spacers make all the difference in the world. I like the spacers because they actually sit on top of the brick versus falling over like the white four-sided spaces.
