Braun KF 7020 Coffee Maker with Glass Jug only for 220 volt (Will Not Work in USA or Canada)

Makes great coffee, set up was easy!

Update: I contacted Braun USA and they were unwilling to share any information on technical support for my problem, or to share information ok who to get in touch with for my problem, which sadly means the product is supposed to be garbage not long after its first use.—————————————————-I changed my rating from 5 to 2 stars. It was great while it worked. A year and a half after, it completely stopped working. There’s no Braun support where I live (Paraguay), and there is no clarification on what E2 is, which is what showed on the display. I’m not sending it to another country to have it fix and I‘m not buying Braun again. Just the thought of how little it lasted fills me with rage. It’s not a cheap coffee maker.—————————————————-Original reviewThis is a review for the 220V version, although I think the KF 7000BK is basically the same thing, barring volage requirements and type of plug.I've used this coffeemaker for close to a month now, and I've been very happy with it. Although in real life it looks a bit more plasticky than in the pictures, it still looks great. To me, it looked smaller than what I though it would but the size is actually conveniently non-bulky and "full sized" in a very well designed way.I was confused about the 1-4 cup function at first, as were other people online. I was thinking that one could fill the water reservoir completely, specify whether I wanted 1, 2, 3 or 4 cups, and the coffeemaker would then use the corresponding amount of water. No such thing.It will brew the coffee in an optimized way given the amount of liquid going through if you're making 1, 2, 3 or 4 cups, but the correct corresponding amount of water needs to be deposited in the reservoir.The "strong" function works nicely but if you happen to have put too little coffee in relation to water, it won't fix it.Inside the water reservoir is a handy "ladder", and each step of this ladder represents 2 "carafe" cups worth of water. To see this Ladder - and to put the water in, mind you - the top lid needs to be opened by flipping it upright; preferable under direct light, given that the measure legend of each step is not easily read. My coffee maker is under a cub board, so I have to pull it out from under to see how much water I am using if using the little Ladder inside the reservoir. That is, if I didn't previously measure the water I put into the carafe with the measurement marks printed on the thing to begin with.Which one should, but doesn't have to. Unless you have that thing under a cup board like me. In which case you should use the markers on the carafe.Last, but certainly not least, the coffee tastes great coming out of it. I saw a model made with inox which would be nice to have but couldn't find the 220V on amazon.

Ho deciso di acquistare questa macchina per il suo design molto raffinato e devo dire che dal vivo ha davvero un bell'aspetto. La macchina appare piuttosto robusta, a differenza di quelle economiche che si trovano in giro e il caffè viene fuori particolarmente buono (parliamo di un sistema "all'americana"). Mi piacciono molto le funzioni "1-4" (per poche tazze) e "Strong" (per accentuare l'aroma del caffè). Il sistema antigoccia è fatto meglio rispetto ai pistoncini che ci sono sulle altre macchine in commercio.Non credo di trovare utile la funzione timer, perché credo che il caffè perda troppo l'aroma stando una notte fuori.La macchina non è dotata di filtro permanente, ma utilizza i filtri di carta (che io preferisco per igiene e praticità) o potete acquistare un filtro lavabile Goldton (misura 4). Consiglio di inumidire in ogni caso il filtro per una migliore resa del caffè.Confermo quanto detto sul sistema di misura di tazze, che non è visibile dall'esterno (l'estetica è migliore, a scapito della praticità); i numeri sono scritti su una "scaletta" verde fluorescente (in foto) e non è immediato in caso di scarsa luminosità. È presente un dettaglio dello stesso verde tra la macchina e la brocca.Devo ancora capire in che maniera funziona il sistema anti-calcare, poiché è possibile indicare la durezza dell'acqua e la macchina segnala quando è necessaria manutenzione con un prodotto specifico, ma non mi è ben chiaro dove vada a depositarsi il calcare, per cui spero che non mi dia problemi in futuro e che la vita della macchina sia abbastanza lunga.

La caffettiera in sè funziona bene e il timer è comodissimo e facile da impostare e la caraffa ha un blocco del coperchio che evita di sporcare con schizzi. Ma i tecnici Braun hanno fatto errori di ingegnerizzazione. È praticamente impossibile capire quanta acqua si è versata nel serbatoio, specialmente per quantità fino a 6 tazze, perché il serbatoio è nero e hanno messo delle tacche verde fluo senza l'indicazione del numero di tazze. Inoltre il serbatoio non ha una finestrella dalla quale si vede quanta acqua è stata immessa. Io, facendo solo tre tazze la mattina, devo misurare l'acqua con una brocca graduata anche perché la brocca della caffettiera indica il numero di tazze solo da 4 in su. Il dispositivo anti goccia funziona bene.
