I wanted to support my Spider Wort plants that were cascading into my garden path, as well support my little fig tree, and cinnamon ferns. These fit perfectly into my little urban backyard sanctuary that already has bamboo planted... I like the element of vertical, low-to-the-ground structure they introduced visually. 🤔... I’m looking around to see if I can use some more of these anywhere, although I don’t really need them. Another good feature is that the way the bamboo is cut, the poles can’t fill with water to invite mosquitoes... I recommend these highly.😎

I needed about three dozen of these edging pieces for a Japanese garden. I purchased most of them at Lowes, and bought the remaining dozen through Amazon since my local Lowes did not have enough in stock. Although the items are identical—the same manufacturer, item description, and design—the ones purchased from Amazon were markedly of lower quality. The bamboo was split in places, the wiring that holds them together was looser, and overall the bamboo had a lower sheen to the finish and a slightly dingy color. I did not have any of those problems with the (slightly more expensive) pieces purchased at Lowes. I am expecting to have to replace the Amazon-purchased pieces this spring.Despite the quality issues, this edging looks great and is easy to insert into the ground. The wire that holds the pieces together makes it easy to border a curved planting bed, and the varying bamboo heights add great character to a tropical or Asian-style garden.Overall, I recommend looking elsewhere for otherwise great edging.
