Kirkland Signature Minoxidil for Men 5% Minoxidil Hair Regrowth Treatment 12 Months Supply Unscented 1 Year, White

I am a 55 year old woman. I have noticed over the last few years, that my hairline has been thinning out. I read the reviews of this product, and compared, the men vs women, formula. I opted to try the men's formula. I have been using this product, for two months, and only once a day, in the mornings. I did not want to try it twice a day, in fear that I might grow facial hair, because of the strength of the formula, because it's meant for men, not for a woman. I have noticed a noticeable improvement, in my hairline, with baby hair sprouting out, and also my hair seems to be thicker. My 24 year old daughter, even remarked the other day, that she noticed my hairline becoming thicker. I also noticed, I have not shed as much hair on my pillow at night. or on my clothes, and in the shower. My hair is shoulder length, and I used to get many compliments, on how beautiful my hair was. I will never achieve the hair I wish to have, in my younger years, but I wish to keep as much of my hair as possible, as I age. I have not had any itching problems, or rashes while using this product. I have decided, to start to use this product twice a day starting today, to see if I can see more improvement. I have to say, I am really satisfied with this product, and to have a year supply, at a reasonable price, is a plus for my budget. I will post a update soon, after I have used this product twice a day. I do read reviews on any product, I purchase, and I hope my review will help someone, to decide if this is the right product/purchase for them. **UPDATE** 12/21/2015 It still continues to work, since my last review in October 2015. My hair is noticeable thicker with new growth, and hardly no shedding. Of course, it isn't the same hair that I used to have, when I was younger, but it's 90% hair improvement, before I purchased this product. in August 2015. I have been using it for 4 months, and I would highly recommend this product. It may not work for everyone, but it has worked for me. I have read the reviews of others, the majority of users have seen results, like I have, and there has unfortunately been others, with hardly, or no results. I will purchase this product again, once I run out. I hope anyone, that has read my review, has in some way helped them in a positive way:) If anyone does try it, I hope they see some improvement, and that it has worked for them, as it has for me.

I've been using this product for years and it works well for me. It has the same active ingredient as Rogaine (minoxidil) which prevents hair loss on your scalp. It works by dilating the blood vessels in the area, allowing for increased blood flow to the scalp and reducing hair loss. That pretty much sums it up. An overall great product and much cheaper than Rogaine. Just make sure to leave it on your scalp until it dries. Also, don't take a shower within four hours of using this product (it can diminish the effects.) Additionally, using it right after a shower may increase systemic absorption because of the water being absorbed into the scalp. Other than that, just apply enough to the scalp to get the job done. I typically go through two of these 12 months supplies in a year because I probably put too much on my scalp. It's fine as long as you have the money to purchase more. More is better in this case. 5 Stars.

UPDATE June 2013 -I just bought another year's supply. I also have used a great product to rid DHT from my hair. Groganic DHT growthick Shampoo 8 oz. . Did it work for me? Yes, so far? Will it work for you? I have no idea, but this 12-month supply will give you your answer at a bargain price. I asked my doctor and he said that yes, indeed, Minoxidil (generic Rogaine) will grow back hair on some people. Seeing this bargain price and noting that this item takes time to work, I couldn't pass it up. It comes in (12) 60ml bottles, each with a dropper. You slowly drip one ml of fluid on your scalp or the Vertex, which is the top back section of your head. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening noting that it takes 2-4 hours to dry. What? Yes, it's mildly sticky, like fresh hairspray. I use one finger to dab it around my scalp. I even tried placing a little in the front above my temples where I am receding. I found I have to carefully comb out my hair and it looks like it might be slightly wet. It maintains its stickiness for a few hours. I didn't care for that part of it. UPDATE: At exactly three months now, I can see ¼" to ½" hairs growing on my Vertex (nothing in front, as Kirkland readily says). My hair came in as it is; thin shafts of silvery grey. It is nothing dramatic at all. But there is defintely no hair loss as well. I'll continue to use this for the year and see how much growth I can achieve. Kirkland does say that if not used, your hair recession will begin again after three months. For the price, it's worth it considering that Men's Rogaine Foam-Rogaine Hair Regrowth Treatment, 6/2.11 oz. cans (6 Month Supply) costs twice as much for only six months. After a year, I'll make a decision. I'd be wiser to go to the gym more often. Also, someone mentioned that it is poisonous to pets and my cat likes to sneak up on my work chair and lick my hair. I'd still recommend trying it and reading all the reviews you can find. UPDATE: It has now been six months of regular daily use of Minoxidil. I suspect I have reached my threshold. I am no longer losing my hair, that is clear. However, I do not see any new growth since around three to four months. The circular pattern that predates the male pattern baldness on my vortex has disappeared and the 'ring-like' appearance has diffused into the rest of my hair. No doubt this is a big improvement over six months ago. There is also no new growth in the front near my temples as is stated on the product. However, I will continue to use up the 12-month supply and make a final decision. I still think for the price and the results, this product is worth it. UPDATE: It has now passed the nine month mark and I can safely say that no new hairs are growing and no more are leaving. I seem to have reached a plateau. If I were to stop now, I would probably start to lose hair within three months, but this item is so relatively inexpensive, I am going to continue with it. A short haircut also helps, oddly enough. UPDATE: It has now been a year. I can say that my hair is about the same as it was after 3 months - no better, no worse. I am sure if I stopped, the recession would continue, but I am so damn vain!

This product has worked wonders for me. This is the second batch I've purchased. I have had no ill effects from using it on the front of my head also. In fact, I use it all over the top, on the back, and front of my head, because it will help retain and strengthen weak hair, not just that which is visible in the classic pattern of male thinning hair. I had used minoxidil many years ago. When I used it back then, I only applied it to the spot that was then forming at the back of my head. If I had used it all over as a preventative measure, I might have been happier with the results, At the time, the solution I used may have been weaker also. I stopped using it. Back then, if I had had this product from Kirkland, and had used it all over the back, top and front of my head, I believe today I would have next to no visible signs of hair loss. Sadly I do, but it has improved dramatically after using this. I feel much more confident also. ( I used to shave my head and now my hair is longer than it has been in fifteen years). The one caveat I will add to this is that I do use twice the amount recommended, one milliliter for the back and one milliliter for the front. This goes against medical advice but to be honest, I could not give a flying @#*! This product might make your head itch on and off for about a month the first time you use it ( it did in my case). This may be caused by a mild allergic reaction. It will pass. Also, you may actually see your hair getting thinner when you first start using it. Some call it shedding. This is normal. Don't panic. I have read that it is caused when minoxidil begins to grow stronger and thicker hair follicles, which in turn, push out the older, weaker and thinner follicle. Just hang in there and be patient. Also, for #@*! sake, don't just take my word for it, go out and research this yourself. Become informed before any negative reaction causes you to stop using it. The one piece of advice I would like give to men who are thinking of using this product is this, don't wait fifteen years like I did.

Hormones change and the hair starts getting a little on the thin side, which is scary beyond belief! Women love their hair! I ordered this to try it and see what happens. I love that for a reasonable price, I get a years worth of product. I have been using it for 3 months. I was warned by other reviews to be patient. That is true. You must be patient. BTW, I am also a female, and the label does say not to use it for females and it is only for the vortex which is the back part of the crown on men. But I am not good at following directions, and I have seen that other females on line in videos have used it (5%) and they did not see disaster. Do it at your own risk, but I don't think there is any. So, to get to the most important part: Does it work??? Yes. I still see some older long strands of hair falling out, and now I am hyper sensitive to them since this is horrifying to experience. However, after some research appealing to my patience and directing my attention to what I should be seeing, I am happy to report that I am seeing new hair growth. You are looking for peach fuzzy or young strands that are not long, as it takes a while to grow hair. I think it is something like a fourth of an inch a month or something is the rate of speed of human hair growth on avg. After careful inspection, I do see a myriad of shorter, new growth hairs that are clearly growing. I will continue this process. I am pleased with the product and the 12 count pack and the price. This product has been a life saver for my hair. I used this product way before in 2014 and it grew back a lot of my hair, only because I was consistent with the product. Once I got lazy and stopped putting it on, my hair started shedding again like they said and I was balding again. For few months I just kept shaving my head but realized this is not how I wanted to look at such a young age(i am 27). Told myself beginning of 2016 I will start applying it again to regrow my hair hoping it would work. Thankfully my hair grew back again after being consistent with it. Here is the honest truth, if you think that its going to bring back all your hair from your glory years, IT WONT! But it did bring back enough to cover up the bald spots and give me a chance to go back to the barber and get haircuts and look awesome again. The directions say to apply 1ml twice a day but I definitely applied more than 1ml as I was desperate and didnt care. It took me about 4 months to see noticible results and people recognized it too at work but i never told them what i was doing. Hair wasnt falling out as easily as it used to either. My only beef with this product is that sometimes when I apply a lot, it itches my hair and makes it look like i have dandruff when i really dont and also it takes a little long to dry. But all in all I can live with the negative compared to the positive. (I will copy and paste my review to the 6 month package as this is the 12 month package)

Well i have been using it for about five weeks now. they say you should wait 4 months so i will keep using it until then. its greasy, it runs down my forehead, and if you don't rub it in, it WILL itch. But i rub it in in at night and it dont bother me at all. I really hope this works for me. I have a full head of hair, but starting to thin in the front. Hair MAX is junk, used it for 7 months and NOTHING. Giving i have a full head of hair you would think it would work best on me. Well I hope it works, i read some reviews and it looks promising, and the price is great, i mean the bottle does not last a month but cant beat the price.
