Alpine Upholstery Velvet Burgundy, Fabric by the Yard

I do not sew, do not upholster, and in general have not bothered with "crafts" so please take my review with a grain of salt.I threw a beauty and the beast bridal shower for my sister in law & needed ze pooch dog stool/ottoman. So I made her one to put her feet up while she sat in the master's chair.The fabric was sturdy enough that it didn't thin out, pill, or get those little scratches that show up on velvet when it's been manhandled by someone who has no clue what they are doing. It survived being thrown in the trunk of a car full of other party decorations and driven across country without any damage.I think it's some kind of faux velevet but it was cheap, looked good for its purpose and took a beating.I was happy with the purchase & if I ever had to do it again, I would buy from them again.

My husband and I wanted to renovate our dining room set on a budget so we decided to reupholster the chairs and we stained the table. I selected this pretty green. The fabric has a velvet finish but it heavy enough to use on furniture. The color is as described and the fabric seems durable enough to handle our 3 cats. Super happy with this purchase.

Wanted to try upholstery and decided to recover an old wingback chair. Fabric color is vibrant and nap is consistent. No stretch to the fabric so working with it was easy. Would buy again.Likely won't last long term for an upholstery piece but was a good fabric to learn on.

I bought a yard of this to see if I wanted to use it to reupholster a vintage wingback chair. While it is a beautiful rich jewel tone deep green, it is the texture I am not fond of. I have used velvets in that past, but this one to me is a tad on the stiff side and almost feels bristly. So I won't be using it to recover my chair, but I will easily find other projects to use it for. As I stated, the color is gorgeous, it is simply a texture issue for me. It feels like it would be easy to work with although I think I would have to be very careful to always make sure the tension is exact and consistent while using it because any little change would easily be noticeable. It would just be a tad fussier when stapling in place which is not really a big deal. Overall, gorgeous, but not the right texture for my chair.

I made a couch cover out of this. The thickness is medium I thought it would be thicker. I thought it would be more velvety but it’s not. Great value for the money and the color is nice

.the fabric is pretty, but unfortunately not suitable for my upholstery project. It’s too thin, and the color doesn’t work. On the website there were several pictures of the fabric and each one was a different color, I guess depending on the light the picture was taken in. I sent a question to try and find out which picture represented the true shade but didn’t receive an answer, so I took a chance and ordered it. The true shade matches the lightest color on the website which doesn’t work for me.

Love this fabric!!It's hard to describe the exact color of this green fabric because velvet throws off several colors. The Seller's pictures are very accurate. I found the green to be a soft grass green (not like artificial grass nor dark like Zoysia grass). Low pile, very soft textureThe fabric is sturdy but does not stretch. Would be great for curtains (almost complete blackout from sun), upholstery and pillows. I used the fabric to cover a headboard in our Vintage Airstream. Really like the color and the feel of the fabric. You need to take care with creasing (should be rolled up instead of folding sharply as it was) but creases seem to come out with some smoothing. Fits the bill perfectly for my purpose (display backing in a frame).
