Is says made in the USA as part of the product description on Amazon, but box and sticker on scale state made in China. I will initiate a return.

is the bowl dishwasher safe?

Rosanne, yes it is dishwasher safe. The best scale for homeowner, small, up to 11 Lbs. I think I made a great buy for the money. Many restaurants use them, also for portion an quality control.

I know the scale has a calibration knob to zero it. Does it come with a small weight to assist in calibration?

No, this is not a laboratory scale, you just calibrate it at zero, on a flat surface, with pan installed. But it does remain calibrated quite well. This is for quick n' dirty measurements, like weighing out horse feed, so you just have to assume linearity.
