The Devil's Toothpick

Fantastic Musicians and Music for an non-existent film
I love music. Yes, we all know that. This particular CD is a mystery. In theory the music was for a film: "The Devil's Toothpick"....Creed Taylor was a musical genius--in my mind--he has the ability to draw top-notch musicians to his tiny label and give them a melodic voice--much to the chagrin of the jarring Jazz gallants.I invite you to listen to track 3. Afoxé (Ah-Fo-SHAY) entirely stressing a hymnal rhythmic song sung by Kenia:Perfect. Then listen to the flow of the tracks, they are all beckoning to be heeded and persuaded to the next tune. To accomplish this one doesn't have to be attentive necessarily, just allow the music to spontaneously flux...Billy Cobham will awake your senses with track 14. "Batucada". This track was originally on the film or VHS tape I once had in my collection, "Live From Bahia". This film incaptivates the dance and musicality of Brazil in a fun and joyous segment of time.Perhaps this film was destined for a select few.

Great cd!
Great music--but where's the film? It's listed as a soundtrack from the movie, which it appears doesn't exist--very strange but the cd is worth getting.
