It takes a 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 bung.......took me twice to get the bigger one from Amazon but they we good about returns.

This fermenter is smooth sided without a handle to make cleaning and sanitizing easier. A carboy carrier with handles is an available option to make carrying easier.

Yes, the oversized caps and bung plugs fit all pet bottles including the better bottle
