Video Devices PIX-E7 KIT II (Case and Accessories)

We regret making this purchase. Was mislead by reputation of Video/Sound Devices that this kit would meet or exceed their quality standards. (NB purchased PIX-e7 and PIX-LR at same time which both turned out to be amazing. Rugged, reliable, has most everything needed for monitoring video/audio and achieving confident media acquisition in the field.) Back to the Case and Accessories; we suspect they had an intern design this kit and spec out the parts. Foam is near rock hard which does not cushion effectively items within. Cords provided are cheap, low grade, and stiff. Articulating arm does not consistently hold its form and shifts and flops about (replaced it with Matthews Infinity arm to ensure the PIX-e7 would not crash to floor). Layout is not optimized and lacks provisioning for larger Sound Devices XL-B3 batteries or extra parts such as media, cords, etc. The sun hood is decent. Save your money. Purchase a similar Pelican case and cut the foam to desired layout. Purchase hood, batteries, charger, media, and quality cords separately and add to your kit. Even if the end-cost was similar the outcome would be better. Would take this route if we could do it over again.
