I wanted a new parasol but larger and with a tilt function so I can Work outside and shade my laptop etc so I can see whilst still getting some sun. All the ones with tilt seemed to be crank operation, so then non height adjustable, which is pretty useless in my opinion to have the shade you want all day without having to move the parasol separately from your table etc. This is fully height adjustable.. God I wish they'd made that clearer on most of the adverts! Talk about wasted time searching for that in many cases, especially with all the crank ones. I can stand under it easily at 5.9ft (and more) or lower it right down over my computer. Great/dark grey for good opacity and shade. Great size for 2 people or me and my shadow Ted in my case who comes with me everywhere and supervises all that I do! Would Work for four people around a table too. Everything feels pretty sturdy apart from the tilt mechanism. The metal does feel a bit cheap but then this is £30 not £60/£70++. I'll just be gentle with that and hope! Even if that broke I could just fix it in place, still good as it's height adjustable. Spokes feel fairly strong. Shame you can't tilt to different angles but it works fine with being able to adjust the height too. Like that there's a pin so you're not worried about accidental closing. Ted would **** himself! My old plant pot (soil filled) makes a free base LOL. Vents are pretty tight to the parasol so can't seen them letting much wind through but I won't be sitting out if it's windy anyway. It's been fine with a breeze and a few stronger gusts. I'd give it 4.5 because of the tilt not feeling too sturdy but maybe it's fine! 5* when price is considered and that you're getting adjustable height. One without that just seems useless to me like I say but people have different needs. Very happy with my £30 outdoor/sunny office all in all!

Bought for the beach to shade one person, more than capable to do this and appears to be of very good quality. Would definitely recommend.

The pole is 25mm in diameter. If you intend to use your existing base, check and double check it will fit/you have adapters that will make it fit - I didn't do this, which is entirely on me, and found the pole was too large, which is an unusual problem to have. Why? Because 25mm is SLIM for a parasol pole. While bases do exist if you want more choice/don't want to fiddle with adaptors, you'd be better off buying a parasol with a larger diameter. It would be great if SONGMICS sold a round base that fits their parasol but, at the time of writing this, they don't. It feels sort of flimsy, but we'll see if it stands up to the summer.
