Anatomy Drawing School: Human and Animal Paperback – November 15, 2016

The book starts with a small chapter about drawing and proportion(42 pages long). That is followed by a very detailed look at the human anatomy (consists of around 150 pages) where the bones and muscles are shown in great detail. Then there is a part of 300 pages on animal anatomy (horse, dog, cat, ape,etc.) followed by a look at comparative anatomy of 60 pages long and a muscle chart. The book consists entirely of drawn images. I use this book often while i'm sculpting, it's just great.

The media could not be loaded. This book is by the same authors Andras Szunyoghy and György Feher, who also wrote another very similar book called Human Anatomy for Artists, which I also have. This book is thicker at 604 pages and focuses about 200 pages on human anatomy.If you already have Human Anatomy for Artists and not interested in the drawings of animal bones and muscles, you can skip this book. Most of the illustrations inside have actually appeared in the other book. The only additional part I see is some additional drawings of drapery. The main difference is the other focuses on every single muscle with many different views, this book also has those muscles but in lesser but the basic view -- front and back. Bones still have as many views and come with muscle attachment points.Illustrations of bones and muscles are very big and clear. The animals featured are horse, dog, cat, pig, monkey, sheep, bear, deer, cow, camel and lion. A big bulk is on horses. It's really interesting to see how different the bone and muscle structures are in different animals. I don't have any other animal anatomy books to compare from but this one's pretty good.This is a very useful anatomy reference book.(More pictures are available on my blog. Was a great book but not the one I wanted but will do the job thank you

This book is a must have for artists of every sort. It's got a different approach on anatomy, as the pictures are drawn by hand and easy to interpret. It has a few flaws in the proportions, but the goal, I guess, is understanding the inner workings of the bodies, layer by layer. It features human and animal anatomy, from cats to bears, but has a more extensive take on horses and people.

Not what I thought it would be. I judged this book by it's cover thinking it was an instructional book because of the "drawing school" in the title. It is not. It is just an anatomy atlas/reference book. As a drawing reference book, it would have been much better in a lay flat spiral bound edition.On the plus side. The drawings are detailed, the muscles and bones labeled. If you do not have an anatomy atlas for drawing. This is a good reference for human, dog, horse, cat, cow and pig.

If you want to study human anatomy it`s not really enough, but if you have other human anatomy books its a great way to study animals. I would have liked it to have more detail in other tipes of animals, like birds or reptiles, but the amount of information in horses and dogs are ok for me. The explanations are pretty much like the other Szunyoghy`s book with a lot of details in the individual parts, bones, etc.Because of the amount of diferent animal it has I would rate it as the best animal anatomy book I have.

O livro é ótimo, rico em detalhes sobre ossos e músculos, muitas poses e referências, além de ter cobrir a anatomia de alguns animais. Essa é a versão menor, na versão maior desse livro, existem mais animais na área de anatomia. Recomendo para todos os tipos de artistas.

Es excelente los dibujos los maneja en diferentes planos, tanto músculos como huesos, es un buen texto de consulta en anatomía comparada para artistas y no artistas

I bought this book under a recommendation from a friend and I couldn't be happier with it! The book is absolutely stunning! Chock full of body/anatomical references for the human, dog, cat, cow and pig body. The sketches are 'amazingly' detailed. If you're learning anatomy or learning to draw, this is a perfect learning tool.

Libro fantastico, dettagliato in tutti gli aspetti, proprio quello che cercavo. Precisi nella spedizione , anche se quel giorno non mi hanno trovato. Si è creato un piccolo problema al riguardo con la ditta delle consegne ma appena ho scritto al servizio clienti di Amazon hanno subito risolto ed il giorno dopo ho ricevuto il mio libro.CONSIGLIATISSIMO
