Works miracle to control lower back pain overnight
It works to control back pain, but it takes overnight to feel the effect. The effect is not instant like TENS stimulator, but the effect last much longer. I have sciatica lower back pain for 5 years and for the first time, the pain disappeared!I like it because it emits both far red light and near-Infrared light at multiple frequencies, except that I don’t think it sends pulses like other professional LLLT laser devices. It’s an inexpensive awesome low-level light therapy (LLLT) device using far-red light and near-infrared LED light to penetrate the tissues and stimulate cell functions (mitochondria ATP production).Even though it uses LED lights, not exactly coherent laser light technically speaking; it works the same as the more expensive professional low-level laser light device with pulse modulation.I have a slipped disc in my spine, pinching my nerve in my spine causing sciatica pain radiating from the butt to the leg, and tried everything to control the pain. TENS (transcutaneous electrical stimulation) had worked well to control the pain so far, but when I tried this for the first time last night, and woke up in the morning and the pain is gone! They recommend to use 3 15-minute treatment, but I use it more than that to make sure I’ll get the effect. It works well on my lower spine pain but my upper spine pain is reduced rather than completely gone. So I think the effects depend on what causes the pain, whether it’s inflammation or something else. My guess is that it works better if the pain is caused by inflammation because it increases the local circulation and oxygen delivery to turn on the healing process.I worn it a few days now and noticed that if the pain does come back when I stress my spine but after I wear it for 3 15-minute session, the pain does disappear again. So it may need to use it every day for maintenance.I didn’t expect that because you don’t feel it instantly like TENS stimulator that scrambles the pain signals in the nerves. The only thing you feel is the mild heat emitted by the invisible infrared light. It takes overnight for the tissues to turn on the ATP (cellular energy) production in the mitochondria to work, and it increases the local oxy-Hb (oxygenated hemoglobin) oxygen delivery and blood flow to the tissue. So I can see how it can have the anti-inflammatory effect and healing effects biologically from the scientific standpoint.I also tried it to see if it helps with my leg calve cramp, but it doesn’t work for cramping pain. I am experimenting with it to see what works and what doesn’t work. The instructions that came with the package is clear. It has big letters saying that the infrared light is invisible so don’t worry about some of the LED lights are not glowing when you turn it on. Only the red LED lights are visible, and it doesn’t mean the device is not working when you don’t see the infrared LED lights glowing, and said specifically they were tested before shipping. Yes, near-infrared light is heat, which can penetrate tissues and is invisible, which is why it feels mild heat emitted from the diode arrays. It has a 15-minute timer and has an auto-shutoff function if you connect it with the provided switch. If you don’t want the auto-shutoff, you can connect it without the switch in-line with the circuit, bypassing the timer. One feature I would like to see is a beep or a glow light in the switch so when it shuts off the user can see that the unit is off as a feedback. Otherwise, you have no idea that the timer is up when it turns off by itself while you wear it in your lower back spine where you can’t see the red LED lights stop glowing when they turn off, except stop feeling the emitted heat, which is not that noticeable.Another feature I would like to see is add some Velcro on the back of the LED arrays, even though it comes with a Velcro strap, there’s nothing to stick to the array. So I have to tape my own Velcro to the back so the strap can stick to it while wearing it. It’s a small feature nice to have, but I can add it myself without problem, except that the adhesive of the Velcro doesn’t stick to the u it for too long after you wear it for awhile. It said you can put a plastic bag over it to prevent sweat and body oil from getting into the LED. I just use the existing plastic bag that came with it and it works fine. If it comes with a more durable custom-fitted plastic bag over the array, it would be nice.I am happy with it so far, and I also read the scientific literature that it can also be used as a transcranial device to treat depression. If so, it is a multi-purpose device to treat other symptoms, although the package comes with big disclaimer that it doesn’t treat anything, because I guess lawyers always disclaim everything to protect them from misrepresentation. Well, it may just be placebo effects, even so, if it’s placebo, if it works, that’s what matters.UPDATE:It works for a month, but it stopped working.

loose wire, not working
This may be a good product. However, a wire came loose from mine and it no longer works. It did not work long enough to evaluate., The wire pulled out of a weak soutered connection. The wire was not strained in any way by me. I may try to fix this. I have since bought a better and more expensive red led light device. This cheaper item is not something I would ever buy again and is certainly not worth the money. Also Amazon's next day delivery took four days.

Great product
I'm always interested and non medicinal treatment. I have always liked red light and then a lot of studying on red light. I recently had a full abdominal reconstruction and I was having a lot of pain due to some nerves growing back together. The Neurontin that I was prescribed did it really helped and made me pretty tired and I'm really just not a big medicine person. Using this light has helped me to not need the medicine and I feel that it is healing my stomach faster. I'm also hoping to take advantage of some of the skin tightening FX that red light has been shown to have. It looks like it may be working, but after two kids I have pretty loose skin. It would be nice to have an indication to win the 15 minutes is up.

This is amazing
I bought this light for my husband. His cancer treatments are give him real numb feeling in his fingers and feet. I has helped a lot with that. The amazing thing is I fell 2 years ago and landed right on my knee I have been in pain and taking pain pills all the time. I limp when I walk i go down stairs not moving my knee and could barely get out of bed in the morning because it would lock up over night. So I thought well let's try the light on it because dr just wants to do a knee replacement and I don't want that. So I tried the lights 3 times a day for 3 days. Today is day 4 I used the light in the morning before work ( I am a housekeeper at a hospital so not a sit down job) I went to work this morning without my knee brace worked all day no pain pills and walked without a limp and faster then I have moved in 2 years. This thing is amazing even my boss said wow look at you walking love this light

2.5 yrs and still going strong
I got this as a recc from my doc after PRP in a lot of places. I use it as recovery from sports injuries, but also on my head and face from time to time as it helps me with headaches and my skin seems to like it. I'm not super consistent, but when it's sitting out, I can fit in a session or two while watching tv or on the computer easily. When injured, I do several sessions a day and find it very helpful. You CANNOT bend this. That's pretty obvious though. If you try to bend it, you will break it. If you want a wrap around version, get something else. For the price, you can't beat it. It's got a much larger coverage area than the flashlight varieties, and I have set it behind my lower or upper back 1000 times and leaned against a chair or sofa, and the coverage is great. If you want more coverage or other modifications to the design, you will definitely need to increase your budget!

Defective
One of the squares keeps going off while the other side stays on. I have to keep turning it off and on so that both sides light up.
