Antimicrobial/Anti-Clog High-Pressure 6-setting Hand Shower by AquaDance with Nozzle Protection from Growth of Mold, Mildew & Bacteria for Stronger Shower!

AquaDance, why bother investing R&D to develop this amazing shower head IF...
I purchased this hand shower because my wife was constantly complaining about the lack of water pressure. We also have very hard water in our house so our shower head gets pretty nasty very quickly with visible lime scale and mineral deposits on the surface of the shower head. This probably was contributing to the low water pressure as the lime scale and mineral deposits clog the nozzles. For this reason, I had to replace our hand shower every few years and I decided to give this one a try because this shower head supposedly has Antimicrobial Technology that inhibits the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria for less clogging and more water pressure. We were very happy with this hand shower because it has six adjustable water spray setting and they all had good water pressure. My wife was thoroughly impressed with the water pressure and in fact, she said one of the settings had too strong of water pressure for our kids.Having said that, I purchased this on October 17th, 2017, which is exactly 1 year ago and last night the water started spewing out from the hose and it appears that inside of the hose is cracked. I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that we have hard water but I never had this problem with other hand shower hoses in the past. In the past, I had to change the hand shower every few years because the shower head looked disgusting and lost water pressure due to the lime scale and mineral deposit build ups but never because of a crack or leak on the shower hose. What's interesting is that if you read reviews of this product from other buyers, there are few other instances of this problem reported so sounds like AquaDance has some quality issue with the hose, which is very unfortunate because the shower head itself is pretty amazing. I'm not sure why they had to include a cheap shower hose with a shower head that supposedly has Antimicrobial Technology. Why go through investing in R&D to develop an awesome shower head, only to come short of consumer's expectation and satisfaction by pairing with cheap shower hose? Maybe this is the strategy for them to sell more?Anyways, I just ordered another AquaDance hand shower to give them another chance. I want to believe that I was unlucky and got a defective one but if the hose leaks again, I'm just going to buy a heavy duty shower hose separately and replace the one that provided by AquaDance and just keep the shower head. I will update this review to share how my second AquaDance hand shower experience turned out down the road.I'm giving 3 stars because the shower head itself is pretty amazing but they lost 2 stars for the cheap shower hose.

Nice shower head aside from the noise - EDIT - didn't even last two years
EDIT: this shower head didn't even last two years. Just started leaking badly from the connection between the hose and the head, and there is no way to fix it. Additionally, this is *not* anti-microbial, all sorts of crap grows on it. Save your money! Not happy at all. This is a nice shower head and it was easy to install. It even comes with the teflon tape so you don't have to make another purchase. It installs without tools and is hand-tighten only due to the finish. I did have to use a wrench to get the old shower head off. This is a little smaller than it looks in the photos, which is fine. It's also much more plasticky-looking in person. The pressure is decent even with the regulator still in. The only complaint I have is it makes a godawful noise when you put it on the massage setting. Like a low-pitched scream. Not very relaxing! I am going to see if uninstalling the pressure regulator might help with that.

Excellent Shower Head
I was somewhat skeptical about this shower head living up to the high reviews. It seemed too inexpensive, and having gone through many different shower heads over the years — well lets just say, honestly my expectations were to return it if it looked to cheap. It is plastic, which was fine by me, and the build quality is surprisingly good. It was easy to install, looks nice, and is very lightweight. I actually bought three (For three showers) but for some strange reason, I was only allowed to buy two of one color — I don't know why, so I got two blue and one purple.I have found these heads have excellent power with a good spray pattern and they look nice. I can't speak to the antimicrobial claims yet, it's too soon, but looked up Microban technology and it seems to be legit. I would recommend these. Very good shower head at a great price.

Nice Shower Head, but Hose Failed in 3 Months
This shower head has only 3 types of spray: the pulsating massage, a wide, weak spray, and a more narrow, stronger spray. The strong spray is a little painful on the face, but it's perfect for rinsing your hair. The water saver is just the massage on a trickle. There's also a mix of weak and strong spray which is the most gentle, and a mix of the wide spray and massage. As you move from massage to water saver, the massage weakens smoothly, so you can adjust the strength of the massage. The 6 jets of the massage are aimed to converge at about 14 inches from the head, so it produces a powerful blast at a small point. The massage is a true pulsating mechanism. You can hear it spinning and the jets do turn on and off as it spins, which produces a higher pressure than any steady jet could. My previous shower head was the old WaterPik with the 3 groups of massage jets and an almost spherical head that's been around for decades. Compared to it, this head's massage is not quite as strong, but faster. You can increase the force of the massage by blocking one of the 6 jets with a dab of hot glue. Blocking more jets can stop it from starting to spin sometimes.I ran out of hot water faster than with the WaterPik, so I think the flow rate is higher. I've removed the flow restrictors from both.Removing the flow restrictor is more difficult than the directions suggest. I was unable to pull it out with needle-nosed pliers. I had to pry it out with a very small screwdriver. I damaged the sealing edge doing it and had to shave it flat again with a razor blade. It would be best to use pliers to make a little hook out of a big paper clip to pull out the restrictor. There's a little white, X-shaped piece which comes out easily, but the restrictor under it is firmly snapped in.Installation was quite easy. I didn't use the Teflon tape and was careful not to cross-thread the plastic parts. I used the thinner washer on the main connection and I used both washers at either end of the hose. There were no leaks with it hand-tightened.The hose is surprisingly flexible, more like a nylon rope than a hose, way more flexible than the WaterPik's. It stays flexible under pressure. The selector clicks firmly into each setting and is fairly easy to work with one hand.I'll update this review when I discover how it deals with my hard water. I'll also report anything breaking or leaking.UPDATE: After just 3 months, the hose is leaking badly. It's not the fittings. The hose has a hole. There's no visible damage and I haven't dropped it or yanked it. From the reviews of multiple products, it seems like none of these metal-shelled, super flexible hoses lasts. They all use the same 1/2" fittings, and there are many replacement hoses available. I can use the stiff, plastic hose from my old WaterPik shower head, which has lasted something like 15 years.
