It’s exactly what you need. It is heavy in a pack out however the hatchet can take a beating and it comes sharp and can be used as a hammer. Shape is good, I wanted the other version with the wood handle but it was to expensive. This is exactly the same but with a rubber shock absorbent handle. Feels durable and feels strong and comfortable in hand. Great price point, great product.

Great Design, Poor bit grind. One side has chopping grind and the other is a hard splitter. Like 5 degrees to 20 . Did I just buy a factory second ?UPDATE: Replacement hatchet sent to me was perfect. I recommend adding a small piece of electrical tape over the back of clasp from the inside of the sheath so as to not scratch the head every time it comes out.

This was a great purchase for me in maintaining my property. Having 13+ acres you don’t always need a huge ax and it’s too much to carry such a large tool. This hatchet has a great weight, appears to be extremely durable, it has a great handle, and fits well on my tractor.

This dandy little hatchet is fantastic! Albeit it would be a little heavy backpacking, however, the weight when splitting or cutting wood is an added bonus. The flat part of the head worked great for hammering as well. You can’t go wrong with this product!
