Will ash fall out the bottom and discolor a painted pool deck? Will the bottom get hot enough to melt artificial turf?

The bottom does get hot and could scorch plastic. I got a fireproof mat to go underneath and it works great.

Is this fire pit size portable? I want to take it out camping.

You could definitely take the East Oak 17" fire Pit car or vehicle camping. It isn't very heavy, but it would be awkward to carry it any great distance.

Does this fire pit really include fire poker?

Yes it does. The poker has two prongs that you can use to poke the logs but also to lift the tray at the bottom of the fire pit. Its great to lift out the ashes for disposal.

Can this be used on wood floor covered deck?

Yes, but use a fireproof protector beneath it and don't leave it unattended or near flammable materials. I.e., common sense.
