Gave me a bad back
Very disapointed this this chair - after having for about 2 weeks my lower back begain to ache. after suffering for almost 4 weeks I realised it was this chair causing it. After swaping to a differnce chair (my old sharkoon chair) my lower back pain went away..... so really would not reccomend.

I still like the old King series, but this one is much better than the new king (BUT)
I got one since I can't find the good old S6 King series - it's great looking, comfortable ...etc ...etc. BUT the back support definitely needs some tinkering & adjustment. Just google it, and you'll find lots of guides to help you figure it out.All in all, great prod.

My 2nd DX Racer chair, replacing my Iron Series
History: I purchased a DX Racer Iron Series in January of 2016. I am 6'3, about 250lbs. Not a small guy. The iron series was amazing to me, it was sized up version of all the racing chairs that the cool skinny streamers at the time were using but actually fit me. I had a few issues with the iron series over the years (which i replaced with the latest Master, in August 2021). The gas piston failed about a year in, dxracer sent me a replacement piston but because it was lodged so tightly into the base i wasn't able to remove it. Luckily the piston still "worked" in 2 positions, full up and full down, and due to my height, full up was what i needed anyway, so i just dealt with it. In 2018 i actually talked my joby job (hey ATP fans) into buying me an iron series for the office, So i had one at home and one at work, obviously i really liked this chair. Then about a year ago i was leaning on the left armrest when suddenly it snapped off of the chair completely, leading me to banging my head on the desk while on a google hangout for work, but thats here nor there. Even a year ago, the chair, in use daily from 2016 to 2020 was still in a shape that it was worth for me to buy replacement arm rests out of warranty for 70 bucks. Eventually though, i started to notice the foam in the seat cushion was pretty much flat, started being uncomfortable to sit in, etc.So i started looking for a replacement. I am in a better financial situation than i was in 2016, where the Iron series at a similar price to the DX Master, around $459, was a lot for me, i started my chair search with the coveted Herman Miller. Ill leave this part short as its only slightly useful for this review, i bought a logitech gaming embody ($1699), didn't like it, very plasticy and weak feeling coming from the iron series, then bought a logitech gaming aeron ($1599) which i also didn't like. I even got the C size which is herman millers "large" size. The mesh was uncomfortable and i missed how high the back went up from the iron series for "lean back" seating. The aeron might be great if you need a chair that you only sit in for correct posture computer or desk work. But if like me, you use your chair for work from home, then game by night, or tv watch by night, and your desk is basically your couch, the aeron isn't great for that use.So, i sold the aeron (for a quite a loss, live and learn) and then came across the DX Master. What is this? A higher end dx racer chair with interesting accessories, okay. I looked at the sizing and saw it was between DX typical racing series and the iron series and figured that i could probably be okay with a bit of a downsizing considering the ratings of this chair.Delivery/Unboxing: Its a pretty huge box, fedex brought it up to my apartment door and i pushed it inside. I had put together 2 dx racers before and numerous other chairs so the construction wasn't difficult. It took maybe 20 minutes to put together (minus the arms, that will come later).First Impressions: It looks sick. i got the black one, and it just has a really "high end" gaming chair look to it. Similar to the razer chair (which was on my list as a contender to the dx racer). Sitting down, the "microfiber" "leather" is kind of interesting. Its pretty sweaty i would say. Its quite grippy, so if you're someone who likes to throw one leg under the other you'll notice theres quite a bit of staying power when you go to adjust in the chair. One thing i noticed as an improvement over the iron series right away are the arms. They're so much better than the old 4d arms its almost criminal. First, the old 4d arms had very VERY sharp tracks that let them move back and forth on the bottom and you could pretty easily cut yourself (i had several times over the years) on them. They also lock the rotation axis along with the fore and aft movement now, so you aren't relying on very very minimal resistance keeping them either toed in or out. The button is flush now instead of side mounted, and my microfiber armrest covers (which i find more comfortable than the hard plastic (also bought from amazon)) fit on the new arms just fine. Great job here.Comfort: Here is where so far the dx master has gone from a 5 star to losing at least 2 stars. The lumbar support. It. Is. Awful. I'm not sure what kind of person likes to sit with what feels like a stone at the base of your spine pushing your belly straight out while making your back make an almost right angle at the top of the lumbar adjustment, and this was at the LOWEST setting. I'm exaggerating a bit, but lets just say the back rest of this chair is nothing like my iron series and was a very very big fail.So at this point i'm trying to decide what to do, send it back? Well, i really liked it and so i decided to see if the lumbar support could be removed or lessoned from the inside considering this chairs "modularity". I won't put too much here other than saying i did completely remove the lumbar spine mechanism and made a lattice of cable ties to create a hammock for the chair back that is very similar to my iron series. I do lose the lumbar support feature, but honestly good riddance. This is not something i would expect a normal non-tinkerer to do, i suspect if i had not done this, i actually would have returned this chair. I really hope dx racer can do some work here to make the lumbar support more comfortable or adjustable. The new pillow is great, i like the rachetting system instead of the rubber band through the "air vents" of the old racing style chairs. The hydraulic piston feels just as cheap as the iron series and i fully expect it to fail at some point. Interestingly, unlike the iron series which i used at full top, the master is the right height for me at full bottom. So maybe the piston will last longer since i'm not typically using it in an up position. The wheels are super smooth, not sure if my iron series were this smooth when they were new, but obviously theyre plastic and will degrade, but thats expected (in my opinion). So a note on the laptop/phone/ipad holder arm attachment thing. This is an additional 169 dollar add on that puts this chair close to 800 dollars after tax. Its a cool idea, and maybe if you're super short on desk space, or you have a bunch of these in an office and you want to have people be able to move about with a place to put their laptop, its a cool idea. Its clunky as ever to install, you have to remove the seat bottom completely, which is not nearly as easy as they say it is, neither to remove or reinstall, the arms are quite "swingy" theres not much resistance in moving them, and because theyre mounted on a static pole on the side of the chair, they aren't really height adjustable. You can move them up and down on the pole, but that makes maybe an inch or two of difference. i can see more use for the laptop arm than the phone/ipad one, but they can both be installed at the same time, and i found that you can fold them in such a way that when not in use they don't really increase the width of the chair enough to make the chair annoying to maneuver. Honestly, unless you're wanting to show off to friends, skip the arms. Theyre a decent idea, but because they are just so awful to adjust and make comfortable they aren't worth the asking price.I have not tried the mesh seat or back, in fact i don't believe they are even available yet as extras (you have to buy the master mesh model). If DX racer likes this review and wants to send me the mesh seat and back i'd be happy to talk about those as well. All in all, i am keeping the DX Master, i am overall happy with it. If you are maybe into being stabbed in the back with very very aggressive lumbar support, you may be able to look past that issue and then read this review as a 5 star. Honestly that is the only issue i see with this product. Unfortunately for me, and i suspect for others, its a pretty huge problem. Should you have to essentially redesign the back support of the chair on a 500 dollar product? Likely no, but i felt that i had such a bad run with the herman miller chairs, if i could make the dx master comfortable for me, i suspect it will give me a 4-5 year run like my trusty iron series did.

Decent gaming chair but overpriced
So the first one I got developed a terrible creaking/squeaking sound when I leaned back (Im 6'4" 245lbs). I contacted DXracer who were quick to send me a replacement gas cylinder. Unfortunately I was unable to remove the old cylinder and was afraid I would damage the chair if I forcibly removed it. So sent the chair back to Amazon and got a replacement. Had DXracer been slow to respond I would not have ordered a replacement, but their customer service actually responded quickly when I reached out to them. The replacement has been fine so far and I like the chair. The chair is aesthetically pleasing and looks more professional than most other gaming chairs. The cushions feel of decent quality and should hold up well but from the base down is a generic Chinese made spring and gas cylinder which can be found on almost all other brands of gaming chairs.I think this is a good chair but it is overpriced a bit for its quality. A family member of mine has an older DXracer chair and it looks like it was better made than the new chair I have. Pretty much every one of these "gaming" chairs has the same base components so besides aesthetics, there isn't much point in choosing this chair over others. Having actually contacted DXracer with an issue I have to give them credit for good customer support with a quick response which is ultimately why I replaced and kept the chair.

Its okay. Not worth $560.
8 months later. The chair has held up decently. Much better than a Chinese knockoff. The lumbar support is a bit odd initially but now I don't notice it. I have the dial turned all the way down. Seems like a useless feature. However spending the $560 I spent, I should not of had the issues I had. When I initially got the chair. The holes to mount the plastic piece to cover up the side bolts where rusted. The bolt cross-threaded and is hard to remove.I contacted DX-Racer about these issues and they sent me replacement brackets. They did not follow up with any sort of instruction on how to install the bracket. The upper part of the bracket is common sense but there are plastic pieces on the bottom I do not know how to remove. So I have just kept the old rusted brackets. Overall I'm disappointed with their support. The chair was comfortable for about a month and now the bottom cushion is flat. There are plastic circles on the caster wheels that cover up bolts on the wheel. They constantly pop out.On my left arm rest. It has started to rip at the seam.Overall its decent. I was sick of going through a chair a year. I will update if this chair catastrophically fails in the future. If you can afford it. Go with Herman Miller. Or La Z Boy. I almost got a La Z Boy and I wish I did. At least the DX-Racer has held together for the most part.

Love it!
This is my second DXRacer chair (first one lasted me almost a decade), and I will certainly continue to buy their products. This chair was easy to assemble (took me less than 30 minutes), is well built, and very comfortable (I'm 6'3 280). Well worth the money.

Not well built
So many of the plastics pieces have broken within the very short time I have had this chair. The magentic side peices which cover the left and right sides of the chair fall off easily, the plastic piece protectecting the chair recline lever snapped in two and was cracked when I had received it. The chair seat is comfortable, minus the fact that it isn't very wide and the metal frame can be felt through the seat cushion, digging into your legs (I am 6ft 250). The neck rest is however very comfortable and adjustable. Overall, for $500 this chair should not have such flimsy breakable pieces and be a lot more comfortable. Oh well stuck with it.
