Cute as can be!

I loved this when it arived. I filled it up and hung it frim a tree. Birds loved it and fed happily from it and it looked so cute hanging from a tree. It seemed ideal, well made, pretty and popular with the birds. Then it rained...what a mess! After a night and day of constant rain, I checked the feeder that evening and the contents had turned to slime. Towards the front end, which dips downwards, the slimy food had slid down and settled into a big lump of gunge. The feeder is oval with an opening at the top, and the design makes it impossible to get into the ends to scrape out the mess. I was left with this gunge stuck inside the feeder and nothing could reach to get it out. I did try putting fresh food in but the birds left it because they couldn't get to it with the gunge blocking the mesh. I ended up using this as a garden ornament and buying a new feeder that keeps food dry. Mesh feeders do allow food to get wet, so it's important that the design allows for proper cleaning, which this doesn't.
