Q: i am new to the vitamin world. can anyone tell me the definition of the word methyl ? and are these vitamins are gmo free and organic ?

Hi: Methyl refers to the word methylation. If you google methylation you can read up on it. Check this resource http://www.autismnti.com/images/The_Meaning_of_Methylation_1-13-12.pdf. This product contains the correct molecular chain for vitamin B needs. I don't know if it's gmo and organic. Another way to research this is to google MTHFR gene SNP. Hope that helps. BTW, I use this product and it's been a godsend to me.

It has only 400 mcg, which is good. BTW, there is a backside label image on Amazon here. I agree that often vitamins will include more than 400 mcg folate. Too high (I read > 1000 mcg a day) has now been shown to cause lasting nerve damage.

No, only the B12 and the folate, I think.
