Bob's Red Mill does separate gluten products though "To assure the integrity of all of our Gluten Free products, we adhere to a standard of no more than 19 parts per million of gluten. We've even built a separate Gluten Free packaging division complete with specialized machinery to make sure that our products maintain their purity--just as nature intended. "

Yes and while mixed proportionately with corn starch makes a great substitute for regular flour. I used Google to get recipes for using gluten free flour for making bread, cakes etc. I have been well pleased and order to sufficiently stock plenty.

Can someone please tell me if this is fine milled or does it tend to be gritty?. I need something with the same consistency of wheat flour.

It is not quite as fine as wheat flour but close. I like it for my gluten-free cooking; it is better than just the regular rice flour.

Does this product work good in stew?

I have better success using cornstarch or sweet rice flour as a thickener.
