I like the pieces, and the cloth board is also very nice. The pieces are large enough that you can palm them and slam them on each other when capturing pieces. It's very satisfying.The case is nice as well, but I was primarily looking for large, quality wooden pieces for that crisp clacking on capture.

Not easy to find a Chinese Chess set that is nicely done. You feel quality in the pieces, the paint used in on the wording/characters could be better but the overall set is very nice. The chess mat seems durable and should last years if not forever, it's thick and once pieces are laid on will keep the mat down. Cool designers box is a bonus, good for travel.

I really like this set and bought it for my grandson. The only issue is that it doesn't come with instructions on how to play.

The media could not be loaded.  Product with good quality! The product first come with a faded case, broken case inside, a broken foam board and a broken item as shown in pictures. A used one maybe?Request an exchange and the following one is perfect, shown as the video. I was once afraid that the wood color is close to the red words. it turns out that once you start the game, you’ll truly ignore all the color issues. Generally a very good product as long as you don’t get a used one. Btw the mats are kinda different but both are good. Might be different versions.

The product has great potential for the price! Don't go for those plastic pieces and boards. Either get this or go ham and get a wooden table as well. I like the mat option for portability and the pieces being round and wooden.This product could easily be bumped up to 4* if the pieces were the same color! As seen in the first image, some pieces on the red side have different color of wood. Kind of ruins the set as you can no longer have a uniform team, you have some wood blocks that are red and others discoloured.Another star deduction came from the broken inside of the box. Not major and not a big deal really but can't give 5* even if the previous, bigger issue was resolved.Overall: A solid 5* if you can get it with all the wood pieces being of the same color and the inside isn't broken. 4* for the broken inside but maintain uniformity in color for the pieces. Unfortunately mine came with both those faults so a 3* was given. Still a great product and recommend, just hope that mine was a fluke.
