Worth the wait
I waited 3 weeks for this hay to arrive. Not sure why it took so long to get here but it was worth the wait. The freshness and quality is obvious. My little guinea loves this stuff and she was so excited to start eating when I refilled her hay bin. This is 1st cut, and very bright green and so many seed heads, she literally made a pig of herself! It smells great, very fresh and organic and I am so pleased with this Kaytee option. It is a VERY large box, with 3 individually sealed packages, which is perfect so there's less risk of drying out while I work through this amount. Each package will stay fresh to keep my piggy happy.Super affordable and I can attest that I will be ordering this again.

Terrible quality
I was excited to try this because of the good reviews mentioning longer, green pieces, but the box I got was full of brown pieces and tons of hay dust. Very Disappointed. I have seven bunnies and none will touch it.

Good hay
My pigs like this hay, it it cut a little to much and almost shreddy sometimes. But this pigs seem to like it. It comes packaged nice in three separate bags to help maintain freshness.

Same Quality as Walmart
My guineas seem bored with their diet so I decided to spice things up with new hay. The Kaytee hay in Walmart is hard and I often have to add cilantro or parsley to it to entice them. I figured this hay would be a better quality, but it’s not. It’s just has hard and bland as what I get from Walmart. I will keep searching for better hay.

My bunny likes it, but...
2024-March-20 - My bunny really likes this hay, but it's some of the dustiest, hay with a high ratio of tiny pieces. I feel like I'm throwing out 1/3 of each bag.

Greatt treat for Mr. Popples (our discerning rabbit) -- young, fresh & fragrant hay...
This hay is an excellent treat for our rabbit, Mr. Popples. He is rather finicky about his food and treats but he is very loyal to the Kaytee brand and he absolutely loves this hay. The hay is packed into separate packets to keep it fresh and it also ensures that it won't get scattered around too easily. The sun-dried hay appears to be a very high grade and is finely textured and not cut as long as hay for horses and cattle, so it is easy to fill a hay feeder designed for small animals. The slender stems and seed heads are the perfect size and weight for a rabbit to nibble on. The hay is a lovely shade of green all the way through, indicating that it is fresh and well packed, so I know it hadn't been left in the field to turn yellow or become bleached by the sun, or stored for too long or in poor conditions. It smells wonderful and apparently our rabbit thinks it tastes terrific. He hopped right over to his feeding dish when he saw me coming with a handful of hay. When placing my order I wasn't sure how much 90 ounces of hay really is so I wasn't sure if $23.99 represented a good price or a splurge. Now that I have the hay I think the price is quite reasonable. Each of the three previously mentioned bags holds 30 ounces and is pretty large; I would say the volume is roughly equivalent to two gallons. Each bag is tightly packed and measures 17" X 7" X 5". The bags arrived nicely boxed which makes the hay easier to store in our shed than the plastic wrapped hay I have seen in the pet store.

It’s nice, dry hay
This is grass hay that does appear to be all Timothy hay. It comes packaged in 3 plastic bags, is bright green and is very dry. It’s not chopped very fine, which is good for feeding by the handful or in small amounts. For the labeled purpose of feeding small mammals, the packaging and quality are the perfect size. For what the product is - grass hay - the cost is very high, but the packaging and hay quality is well suited for feeding in small quantities and storage for an extended period. It’s best to keep the bags stored closed in the original box to prevent sun/light bleaching so it retains the nice bright green color. On this point it would be great if the box was a reclosable type.
