NICEYRIG Steady Shoulder Mount/Shoulder Pad for Video Camcorder CameraDV/DC

I’ve got a Panasonic S5iiX camera, rigged up with mostly Neewer brand accessories: cage, baseplate, rods, follow focus, mattebox, top and side handles, SSD mount etc. I wanted a shoulder mount rig that could attach to my existing rig pretty fast, so I can use it when I need it and not have to reconfigure the whole rig to use it. This shoulder mount was the perfect addition. I got the Niceyrig Z-mount rail offset bracket to go with it, as well as an extra set of aluminum rods, this way the camera would stay centered on my body even when using the shoulder mount. Adding the shoulder mount portion to my existing rig is easy and fast in a pinch. I like the various mounting holes on the Niceyrig shoulder mount that some others don’t have. If I know I’m going to be filming from the shoulder for several hours or an entire day, I can mount a V-mount battery on the back of the shoulder mount to help balance the weight. I also bought a set of rosette handles by Camvate that mount to the front rails. I already have my Neewer wooden side handle that I use most of the time, but I could see where I’d need the handles to be lower for extended filming times. All in all, the parts cost less than $100, so I’m happy with that investment.

Not much to say, besides that it works great on the roof I built. Also really comfortable for long shoots.

It pretty much does everything it says it does. It feels well built and durable. I can't imagine it breaking in any significant way any time soon. I use it for my production company. It's not fancy or "sexy" but it works. If you need it you need it. Cushion is comfortable.

The overall mechanical parts are on par with the reast of the Niceyrig components. However, I did find the pad unit to be a tad too narrow and would shift around more than I'd like. It is removable so can be modified or upgraded in some fasion. Overall a good place to start when building your own shoulder rig.

actually, I like it a lot. It is super comfy and holds extra screws on the back of the mount. I place it backwards on the rails, and let the pad have more surface area to meet the front of my shoulder. This inward pressure allows for more stability when I bring my elbows in. it rules. I dig Smallrig.

So far its really nice for the price. Ha, nice. My friend had one on his Eva 1 and worked great. Im using for my black magic pocket 4k. Happy with the steel and the simple comfort.

Compared to the smallrig, I think shoulder pad is actually better and almost half the price. There are more options to mount to it, and with its curvature it’s comfortable and well worth the price.

Very happy. Many mounting points for accessories. Comfortable and durable material for the padding.
