What a disappointment. The color night vision doesn’t work. Yes, there is ambient light available. This camera is not anymore useful than our much less expensive non-Lorex cameras which are color by day and black and white at night. In fact, because this camera doesn’t have infrared, if there is no ambient light, there is no picture at all. Very expensive mistake on our part.

This camera is pretty good for the price I paid. It pans and tilts with the Lorex home app, but I cannot get it to zoom with the app. The night vision is alright as long as you have another source of IR light. My other cameras kick off a good amount of it so I can see quite a bit, but there are no IR illuminates on this camera. Overall it works well, just glad I didn’t pay the Lorex price for it.

Great picture quality, panoramic view is great, PTZ functionality is very handy. The night vision though is mediocre and is dependent on ambient night lighting. You can supplement it with IR blaster but would have been a pain.It is a major upgrade though from my older Samsung bullet cameras. I further weather seal the mount with first stuffing the gaps with clay and finishing it up with silicon seal.

I bought this camera to replace another type camera for the location it will be at for the PTZ function and great nighttime capability. I have alway been satisfied with Lorex camera systems. I highly recommend Lorex if you’re looking at buying a security camera system for your home or business.

Camera worked well with Blue Iris, but did not have any built in IR lights. Image quality was great in daylight, poor when dark because of lack of IR. Zoom was reasonable for the price.
