A Handbook for Right-Wing Youth
J**H
This is one of the best pieces of dissident right lit on the market.
This book is fantastic for the budding right wing person who finds the modern world disdainful. It's intelligent & well written, Mr. Evola perfectly describes the moral/ethical hardships facing traditionalists today. I highly recommend this book.

Poorly titled, but a good collection of politically relevant essays from Evola.
The status quo of the right has not changed much since 70 years ago, what we call "the right" is a disordered collection of disparate ideologies under the same banner. In this collection of essays assembled by Arktos, Evola's case for a right defined not merely as a part of negation or opposition is made clear. For Evola, the right must be a movement of order and Tradition above all, of authority justified on a transcendent and regal basis. In one essay, Evola presents an unorthodox, spiritual definition of "youth," which is not so much for him a function of biological age, but rather, an unyielding inner spirit, a kind of corporealized idealism that isn't swept away by the need to "become an adult," or to become concerned with only bourgeois and "practical" economic matters. In this way, "youth" becomes the prerequisite for anyone who wishes to advance ideas contrary to the modern world, as one will inevitably find such an endeavor to be utterly impractical. In the face of every incentive to quit, one must reaffirm values. That is youth -- a powerful essay indeed, and a warning to those who might slip through the cracks into a life of economic anesthesia, losing everything higher they carried in their "youth."Further, Evola calls for the creation of a right-wing historiography to combat the ideological founding myths of liberalism and materialism. In contrast to liberal efforts to analyze cause and effect in history on the basis of economic and trade relationships (or even worse, psychoanalysis,) a right-wing historiography would be a transcendent historiography, almost occult. He brings up his theory of the regression of castes as well as the role of certain movements and groups in the process of political "involution," which is his term for the spiritual change society undergoes. There's a bit more in this short collection worth reading, but I can't help but feel this book was a little mismarketed. Evola is a decidedly reactionary thinker, and his recommendations are likely to alienate nationalist readers; still, a worthwhile addition to one's library should one be interested in the political side of Evola.
