Ceramic Fiber Insulation, 1" Thick x 16" x 48", 2400F Fireproof Insulation Blanket, 3026E

Used this to insulate an exhaust pipe from my diesel heater going through the wall of my shop. Worked great to prevent cold air coming back through the wall and is rated for the high temperature. The exhaust thimble going through the wall doesn't even get remotely warm to the touch after putting this in. Super easy to cut with a razor knife and easy to work with. Thickness was as described.

Good product. I used it to make a mini kiln like Simon Leach made for bisque firing ceramic and it works very well. It is durable easy to cut and true to the dimensions stated. Holds heat very well. What I did not expect although it was not a big deal was it is impregnated with small silica beads that do fall out and get everywhere. I did not see that mentioned anywhere so just know that.

Works for a few years then starts to fall apart.

Dense, sturdy easily cut to size insulation. Not easily compressed if you're stuffing it into a space smaller that the 1" thickness.

Thick and heavy so a bit difficult to hang with duct tape. Good insulation around edges of furnace.

Perfect to keep our water meter box from freezing in single and sub zero temps
