It comes with a little tool/ key. That goes in two corner slots to open it.

This trap is a six sided box like plastic structure. At the back it measures 11 and 1/4". From each end of the back two sides flare out at an angle for 5". At the end of this side two sides flare inward for 6". The final side(what I would call the front)connects the two 6" sides and measures 5". These measurements are all in inches. The shape looks very much like the swimming trunk apparel worn by the comic book heroes Batman and Superman. I hope this helps. Ron Simpson
