Solves Tuning Snags
This product really works. Easy to use and provides applicators for probably any situation. Fixed my tuning issue with changing string gauge instantly. Need to have this in the repair kit. Glad I found this.

Easy to apply
It's only been on my guitar equiped with a roller tunamatic style bridge and B50 Bigsby a short time. Already seems smoother and I can see some of the bridge rollers turning better.

THE nut lubricant
This ends many tuning instability problems. I've used this for decades, at every string change, on every acoustic and electric guitar I've owned or worked on. Buy it!

In depth review, the good-the bad
Does it work? Yes. But it could work better.Lets start with the good: The applicator is awesome, it’s the sole reason I bought it. You can squirt out just enough without waste and making a mess. It comes with two micro swabs that come in handy for applying to nut grooves of any size. The bad: no one knows what this stuff is made of, and why do we care? Because most lubricants usually come in two forms, petroleum based and water based. In the past I’ve used Vasoline or Chapstick mixed with graphite powder and gotten decent results. The down side of using vasoline or chapstick is that those products are water based and are intended for biological use (to be applied to human flesh). Any water soluble substance breaks down quickly under heat/friction and looses it viscosity very fast. If your nut is plastic, bone or carbon there’s no worry of damage, unless your nut is made of wood ( water and wood are not a good combination).Petroleum based lubricant is basically an oil or synthetic compound (think about motor oil, gear lube and lube grease for bearings) there are different viscosities for varying degrees of heat and friction (example; 30 weight oil, 10w40, and lube grease for bearings). That being said, what’s the best lubricant for a guitar string sliding through a nut? I’m not suggesting you put automotive oil on your guitar. However, the synthetic lithium grease is a decent alternative, but don’t forget about the graphite powder. Pencil lead dust is a great first remedy, but it falls out. You need a pliable substance to hold the powder in the nut groove. So, I mixed the powder with the grease for best results. In conclusion, I recommend buying this product and mixing in some graphite powder for best results. For tuning and heavy bends it’s doing the job. Where I can’t find satisfaction is it’s effectiveness on guitars with trem bars. There needs to be more consideration for how your nut is grooved and your bridge configuration is set up (floating bridge or resting). There is no definite cure for staying in tune, that’s why we have tuners on the headstock and fine adjusters on the bridge (Floyd rose). Give this product time to work, don’t judge it immediately, over time your nut will adapt. I’ve used this on my strats, teles, Pauls, and Ernie ball guitars with decent results. The best results came when applying to my 12 string, the G string slots really loosened up.

Unbelievable
Cured my strat that was a beautiful instrument that was so easy to pull out of tune with even the slightest bend. By the way, I noticed on the packaging it said NOT to use while changing strings. So I changed my strings, let them settle for a couple days, and used the product. Worked GREAT.

Super simple to use and keeps the nut from binding strings.
Started using this when I change the strings on my guitars, and some of the older ones with some string binding in the nut. Works great.

Works great
This stuff works really good. Wish I’d known about it a hundred years ago!

Good product, use sparingly... it only takes a light film to work!
I have a Music Man guitar that had that odd "pinging" noise when tuning the high E string. Knowing this to be a sound made when a string is binding and then releasing, and aware this can cause a variety of tuning difficulties (especially on a guitar with a trem bridge), I wanted to address it. This can be a "new guitar" issue that goes away on its own, but I intended to gig the guitar the week it arrived so waiting wasn't a option. I ordered this product, having read a few respected players saying it worked well. It arrived quickly (as is normal for Prime items!) and I applied just enough to put a film in the slot. Instantly, the binding was gone. The tuning is rock solid.Simple, effective, if a just a tad expensive. Honestly, though, you wouldn't want much more of it. It only takes a minute amount to work properly, so I didn't deduct for cost. On that note, I saw reviews that talked about it making a mess on the guitar. If that is true you simply used too much. The instructions are sparse, which contributes to the user potentially sliming their guitar with a blob of this viscous solution. I'm sure that could be avoided with a bit more detail or instruction included. I deducted one star for that reason, which is a simple fix for the Big Bends folks. A little more detail, a warning about over-application, and a link to a YouTube video showing proper application would make this 4-star package a 5-star must-have for the guitar tool box.
