Purrdy Paws - helps pets avoid slipping/scratching plus more!
So, I didn't actually buy this product to put on my dog's nails! I have a fruit picker with sharp wire ends, and it pierces and destroys the fruit I'm trying to pick. These were the perfect solution for protecting my fruit! The caps transformed the sharp ends to blunt soft ends. Problem solved.I thought of this solution because I am a veterinary technician and am familiar with this sort of product. While my review can't give specific insight on this exact product for dog nails, I can give these tips:-If your dog is not tolerant of having its paws handled, you will need help applying and removing this product. You may even need to have a groomer or veterinary professional do it for you. Try this when the dog is calm, with someone to hold them/pet/give treats. Do not force. Only do a nail or two at a time if the process is causing stress. Try to keep things brief and positive. (Pawsitive?)-If you are using this product to keep a dog from slipping, you only really need to apply to the middle two nails of each foot.-Proper size selection is important. It must be long/big enough to fit on nail tip but not so long that it covers sensitive skin-Trim nails before applying.-Don't apply too much glue or it will spill out on dog's sensitive skin and/or fur.

Great product & great company & service
I love these. The idea is great and I've used them on my 3 cats over the years and they worked great. I recently bought them for a pit bull we have that just loves to play and run and play tug of war which my hardwood floors hated. He hates getting his nails clipped so I thought this was going to be a battle just to get them on, but once he realized that this couldn't hurt him he was over it. The caps were a bit deep for the length of some of his nails but it's super simple to just cut them down, which is great that i could modify them for a perfect fit. They say to fill each cap half way with the glue, but I found it was way too much, so I do a drop in the bottom and run the tip of the glue along the inside edges with a second drop and it work great. Once they are on he couldn't care less, sometimes he licks a little just to see what I've done but recently he just gets up and goes. My only set back with these is that my pit bull is a bit of a brute and goes all in when he plays so unfortunately we have to be careful we don't drag him along the carpet or outside on the driveway or most textured surfaces because it'll shave them down very quickly. If we're careful we get about a week before a nail breaks through but like I said he's a real brute, unlike any other dog I've ever had so this issue may be completely irrelevant to most everyone else. Still buy them and use them just replace them more often but they are well worth it. Also this company is extremely accommodating with any questions or swooping out sizes or colors and they ship super fast.

Dogs don't fall anymore on hardwood floors
This is THE answer for dogs who slip on hardwood floors. I wish I'd found these sooner. Could've saved my dogs from a bunch of falls and my new floors from many scratches. At first we tried several types of dog footwear. If anyone decides to go that route instead, don't bother with expensive dog socks. They aren't anymore durable than regular kids socks no matter what they claim, and the fit is the same too (at least for large breeds). Dog socks on Amazon cost me $24. Kids grip socks at Kmart were $2 for 4. They worked fine, but taking 8 socks off and on 2 dogs every time they went out to the yard became very tedious. These nail caps stay glued on for a month they say. We've had them on for 3 weeks so far, and they are holding up just fine.

Painful and damaging
I put these on my Doberman to Help him with traction on our hardwood floors. The instructions for putting them on did not mention to not get the cover too close to the root of the nail, nor to avoid leaving empty space at the tips. Both are essential. After one week those covers that were near his flesh (none were touching) irritated his toes and made them swell up. He was extremely uncomfortable with them and licked them constantly. Plus, they didn’t help with traction, and they did not the reduce noise of clacking claws—it made it worse. Cannot see any purpose for these that is worth making your pet uncomfortable. I would not recommend them to anyone for any reason, including protecting floors. It is wiser to just keep nails trimmed. They are also very difficult to remove.

Saves my floors, and hundreds of dollars in refinishing.
So far so good. My dog was much more tolerant of them than I thought he would be. I definitely feel like they will save my floors over the years. We had a few come off to begin with, I just replaced them with the extras from the pack. I think my main issue was I didn't use enough glue. The instructions say to fill the cap 1/3 full. You definitely need to put in more glue then it feels like you should. If you don't it won't end up costing the whole nail, just the tip.FYI, the glue it comes with is just super glue. So if you run out just use what you have on hand. Will definitely be buying again!!!

I loved the clear caps which were not visibly noticeable at ...
We wanted to try nail caps for our 50 lb dog that likes to jump over the couch. Because we just got a brand new sectional, we were concerned about his back nails scratching it up when he jumps over it (when the door bell rings, etc). I loved the clear caps which were not visibly noticeable at all. I trimmed them a bit before gluing them on and they fit perfect for our dog. Unfortunately he knew they were on and was intent on getting them off. He eventually chewed them all off which made his toes a little sore from all the licking etc. Luckily there are still a lot of caps left over in the pack and I think I will add one cap at a time in order to slowly acclimate him to wearing them. If he would keep them on, it would be great!
