WS-5000-IP3 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station with Remote Monitoring and Alerts

The ambient weather station was easy to assemble. The weather hub to hook to your wifi easy to install and to calibrate barometric pressure. The dashboard is nice on your PC and the app works great. I can get instant weather information and the Ambient weather network you can share your data to the network and see all the weather stations in your area. I like this product, it's been working fine and I would recommend to the weather enthusiast out there.

This product is not worth the money spent or time wasted trying to get it set up and running. After several weeks of failed attempts to get it to connect to the computer and the app, with multiple useless calls to customer service, we finally were able to establish a stable connection. However, the unit itself only lasted for 21 months before it completely quit working. The gaskets and O-rings have failed allowing moisture into the circuit board and solar panel housing. There is now corrosion on the board and visible burn marks on the circuitry. The battery housing also collects water. We live in an incredibly dry climate during the summer months and only receive moisture during a few winter months, meaning it only lasted thru approximately 6 months total of inclement weather. For being a weather station it isn't very weather proof!!!!!!!! After some doctoring it would appear we have coaxed back to life, but the solar panel will not charge the batteries and we are now forced to change them out regularly. which also becomes a time sink and added expense. I would not recommend this product.

Update. I was finally able to connect to my home WiFi network thanks to my provider. Ambient Weather Network Hub is working fine. However, Ambients customer support needs to expand their time of operations. The Ambient Weather Hub won’t connect to my WiFi network despite numerous calls. Also, during assembly, holes don’t line up and it caused a screw to pull out the anchor. Had to wire it together. Unable to evaluate the unit because I’m unable to connect it to my phone.

Poor instructions and confusing manual. But, once assembled and working- fantastic

Update: sent the brand new rain cup back to be replaced… they must have sent back the old one because this one doesn’t work either. To make matters worse worse, the product went on sale for 70$ off. I was assured by the manufacturer that I would be refunded the 70$. It’s a month later and still no refund. I will contact them one more time, if they don’t refund my money and fix the item. I will report them to the BBB. At this point I cannot recommend this product to anyone. Original review: This is the second unit I have purchased from this company. This first one gave out after 18 months. Fun times. I purchased another one for my husband for his birthday. He put that one up, the rain gauge doesn’t have a strong enough wifi to reach….There is a direct line of sight from the unit to the interior of the house ( maybe 20’ at best… and let’s not forget the other unit worked just fine before it crapped out ) Everything else works fine… when I contacted the seller to have the replace the rain gauge I got the run around and then silence. The customer service is disgraceful and the quality of the product is questionable at best. We spent over 400$ for this unit. It should work. I should not have to jump through crazy hoops to get the product replaced. I 💯 do not recommend this product. It’s flawed they don’t stand behind what the sell. If I could I’d rate this product and the seller at minus 5 stars. Save yourself the time and money… it’s a crap product with zero support

Super happy with this weather station. Easy to set up and seems to be very accurate compared with my neighbors. I travel a lot, but I always know what the weather in my back yard is thanks to this weather station.

Been using it for a few months and mostly works well. Had some trouble after switching location and needing to redo the wifi setup, but unlike what some other customers said about lack of support, my experience was good. I submitted an online request and within 2 hours got a response, and with another clarification, got the information I needed an hour later, and managed to get things fixed. Taking down 1 star for the moisture meter, which I don't think works so well, and produces a reading that doesn't seem to match my observation.

I was very disappointed in this product. When I first got it the hub didn't work, so they sent me a new one. It worked, but then the weather stats were WAY off. I could see dozens of other people's stations in their network and mine was consistently off on wind by 15-20 knots and 8-15 degrees in temperature. None of their troubleshooting procedures made any difference. I called customer support and talked to a guy with an attitude and THAT is why I decided to just try a different company. I don't need that from a company that just charged me $300 for an inoperable and inaccurate weather station. I'm sure there are happy owners out there but this was my experience.
