Hampton Men's Leather Belts with Innovative Contempo Ratchet Belt Buckle

I purchased my first belt well over a year ago and another shortly thereafter. Before purchasing, I read several reviews and noted that some people considered it difficult to release the buckle. It was really very easy after the first couple of times - all it takes is easing the tension on the buckle and bushing the release button on the lower part of the buckle. I was concerned about the wear and tear of the ratchets and so far there is no noticeablewear. Don't worry about order too long a belt(as I did)- it is very easy to cut to your desired length and refitting the belt into the buckle was very easy. Just make sure you have a sharp cutting tool. I especially like the small adjustment you can make with the ratchets(approx.1/4 inch) which makes for a very comfortable fit. This was my exposure to a ratchet belt and believe me I will never return to belts with holes. As to quality the leather does not show any sign of wear, is very supple and feels strong. The buckle does have any scratches and still has a new look to it. I am sure there are other belts on the market like the Hampton but I think it would be hard to fine one with the same quality for the price of the belt. I am very hqppy with both belts.

I can't believe I haven't read any other review mentioning my issue. It'll happen to you too eventually. I have ordered 2 of these now and the current one I ordered was supposed to be pre-sized so no cutting needed. Well, the leather belt strap is still held into the metal bucket by the same spike latch system. Not happy! My first belt started pulling out of the spikes to the point to where I had to cut the bad ripped leather off and clamp the spikes into fresh leather. Repeat! Repeat! Repeat! Now my belt is too short to cut anymore or it won't fit me. I've even tried using glue on the spikes before clamping but that didn't last long either. I've been simply walking and leather on the left side pulls right out of the the stupid latch system. I'm not a tiny guy but not a huge either, 38" waist. They need to find a better way to secure the leather to the buckle before I'll ever buy another.We'll see how long this pre-sized belt lasts but I'm not holding my breath. The little spike latch holding the leather wasn't even pressed down all the way right out of the box!

My husband is so picky, he is an old school biker that really doesn't like anything new , just set in his ways. Well, he saw one of those corney infomercials for a click belt and thought it was kinda cool, shockingly. Anyway I found one here on Amazon and thought , what the Hell, there was a chance he may actually wear it. Much to my surprise , he loved it! This was a few years ago, yes this review is on the second one I just bought for him which he loves also. He wore that belt out wearing it every day, day after day for 3 years. He ignored all his old belts. It finally wore out and he was so upset. This new one I bought is the exact same great quality of the last one and he is happy again. It's a well made belt and it looks great also..even when he is covered in oil and grease. He loves how when he is bent over an engine or bike that it doesn't jab him in the stomach, plus in the evening after dinner , he can loosen it just a bit, easily with little effort. I highly recommend this belt.

Ordered the hampton mens leather ratchet belt through amazon and it came ahead of time. At first I felt it was a little complicated to put on and espcially take off in hurry. But once I learned which direction to push the release lever all was good and really love it. Wish I had gotten one years ago and will more then likely order more soon. Highly recommend to any guy who wants a really well made modern belt.

This series of belts are a departure from original belts in the best way possible! There are no holes... I know this is obvious, but I never realized how awful belt holes were until I got 2 of these. Holes in belts tend to stretch and kink the belt. Having the belt depend on one or two holes causes the entire tightening force to act only on those two holes. If you have to switch to other holes (due to overeating, weight loss, or just comfort), there is now a kink in the belt and an elongated hole that is exposed making the belt look less appealing.With these belts, the force of holding is spread across the leather by the ratcheting system, which doesn't cause stretching at all. Even further, there are no holes so you can ratchet the belt or loosen it to the nearest quarter inch by either pulling it tighter or clicking the release. This action looks like you are simply touching your belt, there's no need to undo you belt to switch to another misshapen hole.

Very Nice belt. Instructions were clear and concise. I had to trim the belt for a more true size. Again, the instructions included with the belt made the process simple. The leather fine quality and the buckle looks like it is built to last. It took me a couple of practice runs to see how the mechanism works. But is is simple to use and after a couple of "on and off" moves, you quickly know where to locate the latch lever and you go right to it. One you use a ratchet belt, it is unlikely that you will ever want to buy anything else. One black and one brown and you are set. Gain a little weight or lose a little, you always know there will be no issues with belt size.

Quality belt that looks just like the picture. The ratch works well right out of the box. (I've noticed that in other brands the gears stick for the first few uses.) I got a personalized, hand-written note on the order form/use instruction. (Thanks Bella!) I ordered the 36-39 in belt because I have an exactly 36 in waist. When tightened the belt goes to exactly the last part of the track on the belt. I was able to easily adjust it by cutting a few inches off as per the personalized direction. Overall, a very satisfying buy.
