We have been feeding this to our two dogs for ever since they were puppies, but I just lost my Shih Tzu two years ago. He was almost 19 years old and that’s all he ate every day. I don’t care how much it cost. It is a little pricey, but it’s worth it to keep your dogs, healthy I also give my dogs to dog food and they always go to the vet when they need their shots or anything keeping up with all that made my dog live till almost 20 years old my Shih Tzu now my Yorkies gonna turn seven this year.

We did the elimination diet thing when she was a puppy after she had only diarrhea for months. We started with the simplest diet of home cooked chicken and rice and she still had the runs so we had to keep experimenting. Eventually it was clear that she can eat only dark meat, and for at least a year we were cooking all of her food which was a big to do. Eventually I googled around for a food limited to the few foods she’s not allergic to and found this one. She’s been on it for years and is super healthy. The only trouble I ever have is that finding it can be tricky in a pinch since they don’t sell it at big pet stores. Orijien says that’s because they will only sell through places that understand what they’re selling, or something like that. However I have always been able to find a small vender somewhere that has it, and then there’s Amazon.

Yes!!!! I actually ran out of dogfood this morning and this wasn’t scheduled to arrive until tomorrow so I had to throw together some chicken and rice to feed my babies this morning!!! So anyway- thanks bunches for the speedy shipping. I have done a lot of reading and Orijen really does have very good quality pet food ethically prepared and they don’t cook the living daylights out of it where it will lose all its nutritional benefits. It contains condroiton and glucosamine for their joints, and has a good percentage of protein. Most flavors I think have 38%. I also add a raw food topper (for more protein and to spoil them too). I think their coats look good and they have good energy. And my dogs like it too.

I read the reviews on this dog food. They were good. The ingredients seemed good. The price was high, I paid almost $70 for this bag of dog food. My dogs did not like it from day one. They both have a good appetite, but would stare at their bowls, then stare at me, like they were trying to get something different. I assumed it was just a different flavor for them and that they would get used to it. They didn't. Then we had one or both of them puking up the food. Not sure which one because they would do it under the dining room table when nobody was in the room. At first we did not think it was the dog food, we figured maybe they were just sick. After about a week and a half of them still not liking the food, we bought a small bag of a different food. They wolfed it down and seemed happy. They finished that small bag and I then started feeding them the Orijen again. Within two days we started finding puke under the dining room table again. So we are pretty sure it was the Orijen dog food that was making them sick. I through out the remainder of the large bag of Orijen food I purchased. Guess I need to get a small bag of food the next time I switch just to see if its good. My only thought, with all the positive reviews, is maybe the quality control is slipping and we got a bad batch of food?
