KidKraft Lil' Symphony Wooden Play Guitar, Kids Musical Instrument Toy, Gift for Ages 3+

We purchased this as a birthday gift for our son, who is turning 3. Upon inspection, the quality seems excellent, well worth what we paid. Here are some observations: TUNING I am not a guitarist, but I do know how to tune one. (If you're not sure, there are plenty of helpful videos on YouTube!) This guitar is very easy to tune, but - as other reviewers have observed - it does fall out of tune very quickly! Like, by the time I was done with the sixth string, I had to go back and adjust the first again. So if you are very sensitive to pitch, this might get old quickly. DURABILITY As we have not yet given it to our son, I cannot attest to the guitar's long-term durability. But I gather from other reviewers that, as a toy designed for preschoolers (who are, ahem, not the gentlest of creatures), it can withstand some rough handling. And it does seem very sturdy. PLAYABILITY As others have emphasized, this guitar is I indeed a TOY. But for a toy string instrument, it sure gets a nice sound! The strings are real, with varied weights - not like many other toy guitars, which often have cheap plastic strings that all sound the same. They are soft, so they won't hurt a preschooler's fingers. And there is an extra set of strings included, which is a very nice touch. In conclusion, for what it is - and for the price we paid - I couldn't be more pleased! My little musician is going to be unstoppable. Of course, this pitch-sensitive momma might need to invest in some ear plugs... But still it will be worth it.

I had requested the guitar be packaged in an amazon box to hide the item, which was done. However, the material was not a box, it was wrapped in paper thin corrugated cardboard.... consequently the outer 'box' was crushed and open on one end and torn throughout. Not protective in the least. The guitar box from the manufactured was also damaged, along the neck of the guitar, so my heart sank. I had to open the gift to assure it was not damaged and fortunately, even though the Styrofoam at the neck was broken and floating around in the box, it was still in one piece. Would recommend both the manufacturer and Amazon up their game and reconsider how some things are packaged. Despite this, the guitar is beautiful and very well made. I am sure my grandson will love it for Christmas!

Comes just as pictured and my sister loves it. A great starter guitar.

4 stars because doest sound like a guitar and you can't tune it. It's just for silly play. But is extremely beautiful and perfect for a gift. The size is perfect for my 3 years old. But the quality is medium. One string broke and hurt my hands son .

I bought this as a gift for Christmas for my 2 year old great grandson and he loves it! I was surprised at how well it was made and looks great too! You can adjust the strings, etc.. While it is a bit large for him I know he will grow into it! I wish it had came with a strap because I think he could handle it better but I can get him one. He loves to watch music videos and had this tiny guitar so now he is a real star!! I highly recommend this ~ you will be surprised by how well it is made and looks.

Bought it for my son's birthday and he's getting his use out of it. Don't expect to tune it perfectly, but it's good for something for kids to play and get used to an instrument. I feel like the playing is the best introduction into music.

This guitar was not the quality that I had expected it to be. The strings go out of tune just as fast as you can get the next one in tune. One string broke while my husband was trying to tune it, he being a person who is very experienced with guitars. I don’t know if I feel like this will be safe for my son to even play. I was hoping to teach him guitar and give this to him for his birthday. Now I’m not sure if I want to keep this product.

My son loves it but it’s often out of tune. Great for a learning young child but not ideal for great music haha

It was a Birthday present for my 4 yr. Old Grandson. He was very excited about it but still....after that excitement wears off, kids need some how to play basic instruction with the guitar or just becomes another toy.
