Yes. The pants fit tight. If you wear a 2X you might want to size up to a 3X

Q: can these pants be easily worn over regular hiking pants?

You can wear them over another pair of pants. I recommend one size larger than normal. I have worn mine over blue jeans.

I'm 6'2 34 waist and xxl fits great

You have to take them to a good tailor.
