Resonans 15" and larger Viola Shoulder Rest: Low Profile

We needed a low profile shoulder rest for our 9 year old. This is one of the only ones available for Viola. We have one of these for a 3/4 violin and it has lasted through 2 children, so we were confident with the purchase of this one. This one however is adjustable and will fit larger violas. We are using it as a 15" viola shoulder rest. The adjustable part is not shown in the photographs but it consists of a metal slide and a nut/short bolt on one side of the shoulder rest.

Very good value. This shoulder rest is 25% the cost of a KUN and is more durable and adjustable. I have 2 that have been in service for 25+ years

I like the low profile. Shoulder rests are definitely a matter and try and see if it works for you. So, I am not rating it based on that but as a product. The price is reasonable and worth a try if you're not able (as I wasn't) or willing to go to a music store. I give it a three because it is insecure. I can make it fit my 15" but at times it slips or slides because of the feet. The velvet cloth covering is nice. Still looking for another option of LOW profile.

I was not satisfied with this product. It didn't fit properly on my daughter's shoulder. I'm not sure if it's because she is slender in the shoulder or the or the product itself. I would not recommend.

It was too big for my viola. Kept slipping off and bothered me while playing. Suits anyone who is looking for a cheap shoulder rest.

As good as any shoulder rest I have seen or used. I have a short neck so I am ending up not using it, but it is a good product.

My son need it for his school practice, the teacher recommend this product. It is a very good quality for that price!!!

I highly recommend this shoulder rest to any violist looking for a small height in relation to support. All too many a time, violists deal with uncomfortable quality of shoulder rests to fit their larger instruments. This low profile is excellent and provides just enough height and support for your average sized musician. Those needing more height should opt for the medium or high profile.
