Voice of a Wildfire Paperback – April 17, 2020

This is a perfect example of ACTUALLY GOOD poetry!! I can not recommend this book enough to anyone who loves poetry. Don’t mess with all the over-hyped poetry books, your time is better spent right here, right with this book. I absolutely loved the formatting as well!

This was a beautiful poetry collection that spoke to the tensions we so often feel in this life: falling and rising, fear and courage, breaking and healing, and the scars and resilience that meet us on the other side of our pain. Janine writes with a beautiful honesty and vulnerability. Her heart bleeds on to the pages of this collection and encourages others to continue fighting their battles. Through beautiful imagery and themes (my favorite being the Quiet Warrior), this collection gives readers a chance to feel seen right where they are. It helps shed light on the dark places of our soul while encouraging us to fight toward the light together with resilience and hope as our armor.

I absolutely loved Voice of a Wildfire. As an abuse survivor, so many of the poet’s poems spoke to me. The poet is a talented writer and I know her words will comfort, uplift, and inspire many readers. Thank you Janine Tamis for your beautiful words of hope.

A beautiful book of lovely poetry. Fantastic read

With “Voice of a Wildfire”, Janine Tamis has at long last revealed her brilliance, creativity, and talent to the world. With the work in this book, she has let loose a battle cry, summoning all survivors to the book’s pages. There they will find themselves, no matter where they are on their journey to healing. This book is for everyone and there’s something here for every soulful spirit. Each section is perfectly named, organized, and timed, I believe, to let you catch your breath before moving onto to the next, somehow even more powerful, part. This is done expertly and seamlessly. From the freshly-wounded to the long-healed hearts, inspiration flows through every line. You will be stronger just for having read her book.

Janine reveals more than just her heart in this graceful capture of life through words. It is about the ups and downs of life as she says.. but she takes you through it in a way where you say to yourself, yes I know that feeling too. There wasn't anything I couldn't relate to in the beauty I found in her honest words. This is a perfect read to settle down with on a Sunday. Beautifully written. Janine gives a real voice to what we feel and experience but have a hard time expressing in words. Her poetry is insightful and empowering, making you realize the power you hold within yourself. It reminds you of the beauty and strength that each of us possess and gives hope that we can get through anything. <3

This is a beautiful book, words which say what lies inside us but are unable to articulate ourselves- a simply beautiful book.

I deeply adored this book. Janine has a way of uplifting the soul in places I couldn't or dared not touch before. This is a book that triggered very gentle smiles and even gentler soul tears. The ones you don't see but feel. The ones who kiss wounds in places we did not wish look before. The ones who pour gently on shame and tells us it is alright to heal now. Safe. Thank you so much for writing this masterpiece. I couldn't put it down until the very end and it absolutely pointed me in the direction toward my own spiritual path again- a path I often stray from as it brings a lot of unresolved turmoil and shame. 🖤🖤🖤

I love finding local gems and this was written by an author from a town near me, of very similar age to me, powerful and raw, I enjoyed flipping through this and connecting to the poems.I enjoyed that she shares her poetry online, following her page on Instagram before her book came out. I like that they were about hurt and healing, but also about self love. I see this book as a great inspiration to what I am going through right now.I admire those who have the talent and creative mind to write such beautiful and meaningful words. I finished this book in a few days which I could have done in one. If you want some real honest truth and encouragement this is a must read.

I am nearly halfway through this book and had to stop to write this review. As someone who has dealt with depression, these poems hit me hard. The themes of rising from the ashes are particularly meaningful to me. It makes me realize we are not alone in this. We all have highs and lows. It is crazy how much you can relate to someone else’s words. I can’t get enough. Well done!

This book is absolutely stunning! Tamis is a very talented soul. Each piece flows perfectly into the next, and it was an utter joy to read. I highly recommend giving this amazing gem a read!
