Easy peasy
I don't know why people thought that this was difficult to put together LOL I was a little hesitant about assembly after I read a bunch of reviews saying that the instructions weren't any good or that you had to make sure to have the right side out and the correct sides in...? It actually was very self-explanatory... And yes, it is highway cone Orange!! not a biggie to me, it's on a back porch and only the cats see it... the two packages do come on separate days for most FedEx so when the description on Amazon says it comes in two packages, that is what they're referring to. Mine came about 4 days apart. I opened them up and took the pieces upstairs to where I was going to paint them. I am female, over 65 and did it on my own in about an hour and a half. I did coat the wood with Australian timber oil for weatherproofing the day before assembly... I've included a couple of photos to show assembling for one person. I would suggest putting together the panels for each side laying them flat and then build it like a house of cards. The panels are well marked, all the pre drilled nail holes are there, and the only thing I did different was I used galvanized screws that were bit longer to assemble the exterior panels but used all their screws for putting up the little benches & roof. I also put in some carpet that I had left over from doing the house on top of the perches. I assembled mine in a narrow hallway on a decking that's right outside a door so that I can leave the door open and the cats go right into the habitat. The instructions come in pictogram form but they're extremely easy to follow and I guess I was fortunate that I had a stone wall that I could sit on top of and slide the roof onto but it went together very easily. And the cats love it. they were inside within minutes and jumping from perch to perch and got in a tangle of fur with who is going to be on the top one!! I'll probably add some more little things inside but so far it was an excellent purchase.

Very sturdy
I bought this because I needed a place for my cats to have some stress-free outdoor time, and I couldn't be happier! Once fully assembled the enclosure is surprisingly sturdy, and the door is very secure. The kitties adore it, and it's the perfect size for my backyard! There were some cons, however. It was quite difficult to assemble. The instructions assert that you shouldn't use power tools, but having assembled it in just under three hours with a drill, I can't possibly imagine how they expect anyone to assemble it by hand (let alone in the thirty minutes predicted). Also, handling the wood dyed my hands orange! And the shelves are EXTREMELY flimsy. I hesitated to even install them, since I have a very large maine coon who I suspected might snap them in half. No breakages as of yet, but I fully anticipate having to replace the shelves with sturdier wood at some point in the future. Lastly, a word of warning: if your cat attempts to climb the wire mesh, they WILL hurt themselves. One of my cats decided it would be a good idea to climb to one of the shelves instead of leaping from the ground, and he tore his claw quite badly. I'm not knocking any stars off because of it (he's a stupid cat, admittedly, and I can't blame the mesh for his silliness), I'm just warning you that it's a possibility. Make sure your kitties stay safe out there!

Flimsy, terrible instructions.
I needed a second catio in a pinch for some of my foster kitties and despite the mixed reviews, ordered the JAXPETY catio. As a fairly competent wood worker, I was pretty disappointed with this product. The wood is a cheap fur with many pieces split and checked. The instructions are terrible, basically useless-especially since most of the wood pieces came unmarked. The biggest joke are the "platforms" though which are made from the thinnest, cheapest plywood and are so incredibly flimsy that they did not hold up to two five-month old kittens. The thin wire was only partially stapled to the wood and came undone in places. I ended up spending an hour fixing and reinforcing it. It took me a good two hours to set up the structure and square it up(the instructions claim 30 mins). I am not going to get into a rant about the subpar roof since my catio is sitting under a covered porch-other reviewers have already covered that sufficiently. In closing let me say that, after spending additional money on half inch plywood for new and additional shelves, and staples to reinforce the wire, as well as a door handle, which was completely absent, we now have a fairly decent structure that serves its purpose. Since it is located in a sheltered area, I am not too worried about how it will hold up to the elements, but I plan on staining the wood asap, since the original stain is a poorly applied, hideous orange that probably was supposed to mimic the look of cedar.

Be prepared
First off, I do not regret this purchase, my cats love it, and I enjoy seeing them so happy. I think the ease of assembly was dramatically over estimated. The manual says this should take half an hour to get together, and I spent a whole morning into the early afternoon on it. The half hour is about the time I spent putting on my gloves because I was tired of scraping knuckles on chicken wire, then taking them off sixty seconds later because I remembered that my hands wouldn't fit anywhere they needed to while wearing them. I recommend getting a drill and redrilling ALL the pilot holes. Only about half the places that needed pilot holes had them, and only about half of those were in the right place. But with a little patience and the willingness to break out a power tool or two, it all came together. Next, sturdiness: There is no bottom to this construction kit. If you're going to install on dirt like I did, get a roll of wire from your hardware store or otherwise plan for making the bottom safe for your pets. We had a neighborhood cat try to dig in, which left a tidy little escape tunnel. Also, after only the first day (a day of very mild, sunny weather) the roof panels were sagging really badly. All the other wood seems to be handling the weather fine, but they just bowed downward nearly to the point of detaching themselves. They span straight across the top with no midway support at all. I went up under them with 2*4s and everything is fine, but again, be prepared to do some light carpentry of your own that this kit doesn't provide for. Lastly, it's been one week in place and this morning I discovered that a shelf had collapsed, the angle bracket holding it up having given way, which is only stapled together I can now see. It's fixable, but I'll probably end up buying better shelf brackets and redoing all of them. So there's that. By the time all is said and done, forty percent of this thing is going to be patches using material not provided in the kit. So... base your purchase on how comfortable you are going off script and DIYing workarounds for the shortcomings you'll run into. Because there will be shortcomings, but you get what you pay for.

Spacious Catio Best Value Anywhere, BUT...
Ok. So I give this product five stars, but I DO have pointers for anyone looking to add this catio to their backyard: 1.) If you think this IKEA is hard to assemble, you’re for a real experience. The instructions are kind of a joke, but are helpful. There are no guide holes for attaching panels, just starting holes. However, if you have common sense and can put together Lego blocks, you can do this project. 2.) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUT THIS TOGETHER WITHOUT A POWER DRILL. The instructions say to use a screw driver only *laughs*. 3.) it is not weatherproof or predator proof, but you can easily add staples to the hardware cloth to strengthen it. I took the time to price out material to really DIY at my local hardware supply store, and this product plus the minor additions (corner brackets to keep it square, inexpensive shelving brackets to strengthen the roof, outdoor paint, and a door handle) was less expensive AND saved me time. Biggest downside is that yes, these pieces are made in China. It took me about a day to paint the wood on the panels and I decided to stain the roofing trim/cat shelves a natural color. It took another half a day to assemble and add some of the above modifications. I am in love with the end product, and so are my cats. My strictly indoor kitties can safely enjoy sunbathing again.

2 star product but giving it 3 because my boys LOVE IT!
PURCHASED 3/10/2020. (Original Review was 3 stars on 3/23/2020, now it's 2 as of 4/23/2020.) DELIVERY: It came in two boxes on two different days. One by UPS, one by FedEx. SMELL: We opened boxes inside our closed garage, do not do this! The Formaldehyde smell made us dizzy and slightly nauseous so definitely open outside. We left in our carport for two days to air out. DIRECTIONS: Laughable. No words, just diagrams and they can get a bit confusing but with a little time and common sense we were able to figure it out. COLOR: It is not a pretty natural cedar color as shown. It is orange but it's not a horrible deal breaker orange. The stain that they spray on to mimic the look of cedar is sloppy and has numerous runs. Our DIY solution was to paint it black to match our roof and shutters. WIRE: Not the best quality but it works. We used a staple gun to reinforce everything. STURDINESS: It is made from 1x2 inch wood, 2x2 inch would have been much better but time will tell. After we painted we sprayed a light coat of Thompson’s Water Seal on everything. I will continue to do this every year to prolong the life of the structure. ROOF: Roof is plywood with asphalt on top and comes in 3 large pieces. It is too heavy for the structure. There is no support at all in the middle where the 3 pieces meet so we purchased a 1x2 inch piece of wood and made two supports. (Additional $) SHELVES: We received 6 measuring 10 inches x 17 inches. They are 1/8” thick plywood which is very thin. The corners are sharp so you will have to either round them off or cover in indoor/outdoor carpeting as we did. (Additional $). We combined two shelves into one to beef them up in order to hold the weight of our cats. I will have to purchase more plywood in order to get three more shelves (Additional $). BOTTOM: No bottom is included but you may not need one depending upon where you place your Catio. We are placing ours on a deck so we may cover a piece of plywood with Astroturf to lie in the bottom at a future date. (Additional $) WOULD I BUY AGAIN ?: Yes! I think being placed under the eaves of our roof with the modifications we have made (paint, sealer, roof supports) that we may can get 3 years use, possibly 4 if we continue to seal every year. However, I would not buy a second time. Now that I know how to build one next time I will use thicker and better quality wood from a local home improvement store and DIY. ***UPDATE 4/23/2020*** STURDINESS: It rained and the piece of wood on the door that the latches connect to split down the middle on it's own making the door very difficult to open. Contacted Seller for door replacement and they said they would issue a partial refund instead. SHELVES: Even though we doubled the shelves and covered in outdoor carpet and being placed under the eave of our home, one rain and the shelves are warping. We will have to purchase much thicker plywood and completely rebuild the shelves. (Additional $) WOULD I BUY AGAIN ?: Still yes. Just be prepared that if you place this outside there will have to be consistent repairs performed.

Exactly what I expected
Got this for my cats. I read some of the reviews that said it arrives with orange wood, so I went ahead and got some stain to paint it. When it arrived, it was not orange at all. It was cedar colored and not unappealing, but I had already purchased the stain so I just painted it. Also, many reviews said the directions were not clear. Also incorrect. There are no written directions, but there are several pictures to follow. All the pieces come clearly numbered, and if you make sure to check your supply list against what you have, then you should be all set. There is one piece that comes in the box that has no wire screening in it. It’s actually the door frame of the door and it’s supposed to be like that. There is another piece that fits inside of it and is actually going to be the door. That part was the least clear on the directions, so you’re welcome. It definitely takes two people to put it together and even though it says you can’t use power tools, I used a cordless screwdriver, and it worked great. It says it takes 30 minutes to assemble, but even with two people it definitely took longer than that. Plan on half an afternoon.

If I can do it, you can too!
I am a 54 yr old very petite and not in greatest shape. If I can figure out how to do this, you can too. Helpful tips: You'll need a few 4" inch clamps. I used a folding table Drill and drill bits Familiarize yourself with the panels. I wrote out a list of what panel went where after I made a few mistakes - and I still made mistakes but if you have a drill, you can just make new holes :) I decide to put the shelves on last. I don't know if that's a good decision because I haven't done it yet. I haven't put on the roof, but they look study. The color is perfect. Mine isn't orange at all, or at least it doesn't look orange to me. I'm trying to decide what would be the best method to waterproof the wood. I'll have to do my research on that. So far I am very happy with my purchase! I took a star off because the direction frankly suck. They make you have to think way too hard, but like I said before, you can do it! **Update** - almost done. A friend donated me 3/4" plywood for the floor and I bought and 8 pack castors so I can wheel it around my deck. Once I had the shelves up - *beware* these shelves will not hold up your cat if they're heavier than 12 pounds. My cats are only 5 and 8 pound respectively and some of the bend when the littlest one jumps on them. So they are not so afraid, I put their old cat shelter in there. It gives them something they're familiar with. But because it takes up so much room I need to figure something else out. ALSO, I am not crazy how the roof looks. I'll have to modify to make it flush and make sure it doesn't leak.
