.I have been wanting to graft things for years. Always put it off as too chancy for important work, but some success.THIS instrument I've used and it ROCKS. up to about 3/4" [perhaps more] in diameter and with precision.comes with two extra blades, not three: Total blades are three. plus tools in a nice foam protecting pouch.I feel like a real pro with this tool Took all of two seconds to work in on some grape vines and some roses.Going to to olive trees next. ROCKS would highly recommend this. Bought on a lightening sale about $15 to really good deal.

The design tends to squish the cambium layer when trying to squeeze and cut to make a graft. I have had some success with it but much easier to Simply use an exacto knife. Also, the material that cuts can rust which leaves a lot of bad bacteria or something on the fresh cut, inhibiting healing. Good idea in theory but the plants don't seem to like it.

Have used this tool twice now. It makes good clean cuts. The case keeps everything right where it should.The only downside that I can see, is that there is no instructions on how to change the blades, or on how to clean and care for it. I have no problem with it, but someone that is not knowledgeable on this, and is just learning how to graft, could have some problems.
