But I do have my favorites, and it's always a challenge in my mind for an author to top one of my favorite books. This series has officially rocketed to the top of my favorite KR books. To say I loved it is an understatement.I was desperate for something really good to read, that would pull me in immediately. And this series was the perfect solution to my book funk. I devoured both books in two days, because I couldn't put them down. It was everything I love and look for in a book - a slow build romance, sexiness, humor, friendship & so much heart and emotion that I felt connected to both of these fantastic characters.And did I mention it was hot?Colton Drake, charming & sexy, is the perfect leading man. But clearly he's got issues, or why else would he buy a girl for sex, right? He's a successful, good looking guy who could have any girl he wants. But what he really wants is a companion, someone who will give him no strings sex, and be there for him whenever he needs - but without the drama and emotions involved in a relationship. Seems shallow, but once you start to get a glimpse of the real man behind the issues, you fall head over heals. Those little glimpses of kindness and affection won me over immediately. I wanted to know Colton and find out what had broken him.Sophie Evans is a sweet and innocent girl, who wants nothing more than to save her sister's life, no matter how much it'll cost her. What she doesn't expect was that she'd be attracted to Colton, let alone enjoy his company and find comfort in his companionship. She's spent her life being in the shadows of her sister, selflessly giving herself to her family without ever thinking about her needs or wants. And for the first time she is able to be herself. I loved her strength, but it was how selfless she was that gripped at my heart.The best part of this series was the slow burn between Colton & Sophie. There is no insta-love. The suspense and build up of their romance was intense and wonderful. Yes, it was super hot (I expect nothing less from Kendall Ryan), but I also felt the emotion between these two. Not only was the story about finding love, but it was also about finding themselves along the way.KR also packed a wicked punch at the end of the first book that I never saw coming. I LOVE when an author keeps me on my toes, and I can't even tell you how glad I was that the second book was waiting for me on my Kindle.Another thing I loved about the book were the secondary characters. It was easy to adore Pace and Collin, Colton's brothers, and Sophie's sister, Becca. I'm so excited that Pace is getting his own book - Filthy Beautiful Lust.With all of KR's books I feel that I get just enough back story and description to keep me wanting more, without dragging things out. Having just read a book recently that I felt was way too long and drawn out, I loved that this book kept on pace and didn't drag. I found myself excited to pick it up any chance I could, and that is a sign of a great book, in my opinion.A beautiful story full of emotion and the perfect amount of steam - it surpassed all of my expectations. Another fantastic series by Kendall Ryan.

This was an entertaining and easy read filled with secrets and steam. It does end in a cliffhanger, but the remaining books in this series are all currently available.I wasn't sure I would like the virgin auction premise, but I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this story was and how much I ended up liking Sophie and Colton. Things are complicated between the two right from the start, but over time, they grow closer and the walls start coming down. The slow burn and build up between the two of them was deliciously fun and sexy. It made their relationship more substantial and genuine. I loved that Sophie was willing to put the needs of her sister/family ahead of her own, but also that she grew into her own as well. She didn't just want to be kept and taken care of by Colton. She wanted more from herself and her life. Colton initially comes across as aloof and uncaring, but the reality couldn't be further from the truth. He wants so badly to feel intimacy and a connection, that it's heartbreaking when the truth comes to light. Yes, the big reveal was easy to predict and wasn't quite the huge secret it was played up to be, but it still hurt and left me itching to start the next book ASAP. I'm excited to continue on with the series, not only to find out how Colton and Sophie's story ends, but also to learn more about the Drake brothers, Pace and Collins. This is a great start to the series!

5 stars !!!!FLOVED !!! This might be my favorite Kendall Ryan book. This was one of the few reads I have read by her and by far the best. These surely won't be my last books by this author. I love her writing style, so flawless she's got her way with words. This is also a dual pov, that is from hero and heroines side's being told. So Kendall is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors by far. A well recommended author. Her writing I loved, the story line one of the most interesting ones I've read.I just didn't like how short her books are. I loved them so much I wish they could be longer with a bit more content. For instance this book is about a 21 year old girl named Sophie, who is determined to make money to get her sister in a experimental treatment program . Her sister is very sick with cancer. She can't find a job, due to her age and lack of education which all she has is a hs diploma.Sophie goes and try's out for a stripper, she does a terrible job auditioning for the part. The owner asks how much are you looking to make, and finds it funny how much money she needs. He shows her a website where wealthy men, can buy women as a 6month sex slave. He gives her the make over and tools she needs for this. In return she has to give him 20% of what she gets, plus to pay back for the make over. Since she's a virgin, she costs even more.At the show she was shy, covered her breast, kept her head down. Soo alpha Colton Drakes wins the auction and gets Sophie. Which he hired one for companionship.So I loved the theme and story line, so original and amazing. Was great and different story. I like that about Kendall her endless originality she comes up with for her stories. They are short but still great. I would have liked to see Sophie job hunting, going to the club auditioning just everything leading up to her being at the auction. Just to see her thoughts , preparation, like what was going through her mind. Instead it just jumped into the scene with the description of what lead up to it, in a way it saves time and from the story dragging. But in the end I still loved it.Moving onto the characters, loved Colton, wish I could take him home. He's a brooding, closed off, high powered alpha. He could have any women he wants easily with his, wealth and looks. But that's not what he wants. My heart ached for him. He was deeply hurt by someone. He comes off closed off and guarded. Due to him being deeply burned before. So to keep his heart from getting hurt he went to the auction in search of companionship something he misses.The heroine is Sophie who is 21. Right off the bat you can tell what kind of person she was. Selfless was a definite, she was sacrificing a lot to help get her sister the treatment she needed. She was shy and innocent but a little at a time she began to, break down her walls, and reveal who she really was.Colton and Sophie broke each others wall's down, got them to push their breaking points . Learn to trust and take risks. Overall they were meant for each other. Some much chemistry, practically leaping off the page, sexual tension, angst for sure.One of the best reads this year.

Il libro è più una short story che un romanzo, in quanto è composto da sole 141 pagine (e non 309 come erroneamente scritto nella informazioni - per verificare che non fosse un errore del mio dispositivo ho eliminato e ricomprato il libro), e come tale presenta alcuni dei difetti tipici delle short story: personaggi non molto caratterizzati, trama un po’ frettolosa che si dipana senza creare molta suspense; arrivo a 3* perché la chimica tra Colton e Sophie è ottima, e arrivata alla fine della “novella” sei impaziente di sapere come va a finire la loro storia.Ma se amate storie che si dipanano piano, questo libro non fa per voi essendo appunto una novella e non un romanzo - se avessi saputo quant’era in lungo in realtà (cioè meno della metà di quanto scritto), quasi sicuramente non l’avrei comprato.

I love it!! I'm so completely wrapped up in Sophie and Colton that I can't wait for the next book! I love the story line, the chemistry between these too and all the off the charts sex that I know is/ better be coming!! That ending killed me!!! I just adore how selfless Sophie is and how she lucked out with the perfect specimen that would be Colton!! Yummy!!

When I want something steamy, I always choose a Kendall Ryan. This book is by far the best Kendall Ryan so far. The Story starts out with Sophie Evans selling herself at an auction to the highest bidder for a 6 month period. She needs the money for her twin sisters' cancer treatment. Colten Drake is a millionaire alpha male who has been burned. On the spur of the moment he decides to attend this "auction" and he ends up bidding for Sophie and taking her home.The book is sexy and passionate, but it is also a beautiful love story between two people who are drawn together by over the top chemistry. Their relationship develops slowly and it's beautiful to watch them falling for each other. They are two wonderful characters, both richly drawn with the right amount of backstory. Wow what a read! I couldn't put it down. Be sure to read the second installment filthy beautiful love as well, as the first one ends with a

I loved this book, i love a book with an alpha business man and a shy sweet girl who gives in to passion. The connection between Colton and Sophie is lovely and hot. i couldnt put this book down, it had me hooked straight away and i read it until i finished and then it ended on a cliffhanger so i started book 2 straight away. Great story.
