Black Cats & Evil Eyes: A Book of Old-Fashioned Superstitions

I found this randomly in BAM one day and didnt get it at the time and regretted it like crazy so I finally got it on here and I was so happy I did. This book it such a fun quick read or just to read randomly if you're really interested in superstitions. I didn't know about half of these that's in this book. I really adore this book. I feel like it's good companion if you like witchy stuff. I know it doesnt really have anything to do with witches. I think it's a pretty informative book. I wouldn't mind having more books like this. I think would be a good coffee table book too.

If you’ve ever wondered where superstitions began, read this book. Plenty of information as to the origins of many, plus it’s entertaining.

I bought this book at the request of my grand daughter and it looked so good I had to quickly wrap it so I wouldn't keep it. It's full of information and explanations sbout what we know as magic, beliefs and secrets! Fun and informative!

I flipped through it, and it seems like a good value for the price. It doesn't go into very much depth about each topic, but it makes a nice casual read. It can be read straight through, or you can skip around to what interests you. It has some simple illustrations.

An interesting read. Wonderful for the price. It's nice and small too, so if you wanted to carry it around with you it's not a big hassle.

I bought this for a friend and it was perfect! all kinds of neat superstitions and fun to read! She loved it.

I really liked the background explanation of as h superstition but felt there could have been more history research and press fusion done ! Was a bit brief but enjoyable.all.t

Very interesting and informative, as many of the superstitions and sayings I had never heard of. I was amazed that some are quite modern. It's amazing that in the 21st century we still are a little bit superstions, even though we don't like tto admit it.

While superstitions are pretty much rooted in a fear of the unknown these are a mixture of the better known and the not so well known. It’s a pretty comprehensive look at human behaviour through the eyes, as it were, of fear and the lengths we’ll go to in order to ward off bad luck and frightening events in life. It’s a good book and won’t take too long to read.
