Thought provoking novel.
This book may seem kind of slow at times, but it comes together brilliantly. Without these times of thought provoking scenes, the exciting parts would not be so exciting. Very hard to put this book down. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It saddens me to realize the three novels are completed. I will miss the time I havehave spent in another world. Excellent reads.

Great reading plus educational
Very timely reading because of the Ukraine Russia War. Gives a very good history of the entire Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany area, plus a romance with Christian precepts included.

A Thrilling Closure to the Series
This is the third and final book in an exciting series of desire, love, intrique, deception, bravery and true loyalty. The three books that make up the Secret of the Rose series should be read in sequence or the reader will miss too much of the drama. This book culminates in an escape from Eastern Germany to West Berlin by an American diplomat (with no imunity), who had secretly gone east to find and bring back the love of his life and her father who had been imprisoned by the German Stasi for 14 years. They finally made the escape along with the help of the then still existing underground in Poland and Germany. Threaded throughout the series you were tantalized with wanting to know what the secret of the rose is.I had visited both East and West Berlin during the Cold War years and can confirm the accuracy of the picture of despair the author paints in this novel and the immense pressure to conform with all the rules for living in fear of being reported to the police. The series is historically accurate, so if you want to learn a little more about living both free and then under Communism, this is a very interesting way to do that. All I can really say is to read all three books and you won't be dissapointed.

Great
Fantastic book Mr. Phillips has brought forth a book that will make you think upon the differences of religion between Jewish and Christianity. This being done while keeping the story going . I know it has me thinking.

Love this book series.
I have loved every one of Michael Phillips books. Especially since I have not read one with sexual content. I avoid books like that and I am insulted when I read a book that looks like something and the author throws in a gratuitous sex scene that has nothing to do with the story or is unnecessary. I haven't had to worry about that with Michael Phillips' books. The story is compelling and interesting. This book is a continuation of the story in Secret of the Rose Book 2 but it will stand alone...but make you want to start with #1.

Riveting
Amazing story of love and escape. Hunted and almost apprehended. Sabrina and Matthew reach freedom by the grace of Father God. Compelling thoughts give the reader deep insights into the heart and mysteries of God.

This is a direct continuation of the second volume in the series. This book has the main characters attempting to escape from behind the iron Curtain. It takes several attempts and has a very hopeful ending. Spiritually, its like escaping from a dark world to one which is filled with freedom and light. Still some great spiritual truths and insights into what living a Christlike life is truly like.

Five Stars
This entire series (Secret of the Rose) is so RICH! VERY VERY hard to put the book down. I love historical fiction (especially written by Michael Phillips) and, though combined with romance, that too is RICH - definitely not of the dimestore novel variety but tender and mature and fulfilling. And, if you don't understand the love of The Father by now, you will after reading this series.

A fine historical novel covering the Jewish plight and the Russian/German ...
Having read the first two books in this series of 4, I was interested to see how everything worked out for the main characters. This book continues the unravelling of the secret of the rose, behind the then 'iron curtain'. It is full of suspense and also descriptive of people who put their trust in God and draw from Him while all around is full of uncertainty and betrayal. It is a well written story and I'm keen to start reading the final book now. A fine historical novel covering the Jewish plight and the Russian/German interactions along with the role of the US government.

Understanding and truth
I have read all three books in the series and loved them all, although I found this one a little drawn out in some places. The suspense was unreal. My heart was pounding. There is so much good information in these books both from Christian aspect and from a historical aspect. Micheal Phillips is an incredible writer an makes you feel like you are living this. He makes you understand so much about how God wants us to live.

Rewards of pursuing God's way.
Inspiring, encouraging spiritual truths woven through the difficult lives of Christians living in the oppression of Soviet & East German Communism. Lives completely given over to God's leading reap their rewards. This story continues to follow the paths of Sabina, Matthew, Baron von Dortmann & Thaddeus aswell as others intricately involved in the destiny of God's chosen ones.
