I installed this a little over a month ago and used approximately for 3 trips and the bracket broke of off the trailer. The break was across the holes that were there for adjustments to a smaller jet ski trailer frame (the weak point). That bracket needs to be thicker or reinforced at the extra holes to support the weight of a 13 inch spare tire.

This spare tire carrier appears quite sturdy and should last for many years with minimal care. The 4-inch mount bolts are listed as 3/8 x 1000mm. They are actually metric dimension bolts. If you want a secure mount using double nuts, you'll have to buy more metric nuts (expensive, for some reason) or replace the bolts and nuts with 3/8 stock.

At first, I thought this wouldn’t work, but as I bolted it together, it seemed to be very sturdy and held my trailer tire in place well.
