I’ve had an issue with squirrels digging in our porch potted plants for years. I plant my flowers, enjoy the beautiful space and then BOOM squirrels come along and destroy the plants, and leave soil all over the porch. I’ve tried everything: cayenne powder, mint oil, dog fur, coffee grounds, fake owls, “super sonic” machines. Nothing works for more than a day or two. Until I installed these! I was looking for something to cover the soil without obstructing my plants and something that didn’t look tacky. These guards look great, they WORK, and allow me to water without removing. 10/10, will be using these again and again!

My order did not need any cutting or adjustment in size. I would recommend, organizing three of the four pieces by placing super glue on the areas that meet. They don't truly connect. The "nails" are inserted to fit the pieces together on top of the plant. So, I glued three pieces leaving the "nail" areas unblocked. Then I wrapped the three pieces around the plant and glued in the last (4th) piece. After several minutes, I then inserted the nails, which sank into the plant dirt. Would recommend dry and tightly compacted dirt so the nails insert fully.

Did it stop kitty from digging the dirt out of my potted plants? Yes. Does kitty now just comfortably perch on top of this barrier to chew on the plant leaves? Why yes.Cat= 1, House plants= 0

I have a puppy that loves to dig in my plants! This is genius. Cut to fit with ways to cut it even if the base of the plant isn’t exactly in the center. And if the “pin” thing doesn’t go into the hole because of a root, putting it through the a slot works too. Water and fertilize right through it!

Great idea but it just didn’t fit right like I thought.

Maybe this is because I was using them for smaller plants but I found these extremely difficult to work with. Other than the overlapping holes there is nothing that links the pieces together so you will be forever struggling to line them up to get the stakes in, I even tried taping them together at one point just to hold them stable while I did it and it didn't work. The material is also a little difficult to get through with scissors so if you have dexterity issues you may have trouble working with these. I will not purchase them again.

My little dog kept digging into my potted palm tree. I had to do some cutting and finagling with this product so It would actually fit around the tree but I made it work and it’s been a flawless solution to my problem!! Definitely recommend!!
