Standard Ammo Box

I purchased this lovely wooden ammunition box for my sweet fiancé and after I opened it up, I couldn’t wait to just go ahead and give it to him early. He was stunned by the craftsmanship of this beautiful wooden box. The 1st thing he did was start filling it up. Ha! He Loves the design that I picked out so much too. I’m a city girl with a super country man and if you’re like me and want to see a smile on your loves face and know that , then do what I did and purchase this Amazingly beautiful, very sturdy and roomy box. You can’t miss with this one! ♥️

Very nice box. I used a pilot drill and located new holes to reinforce the bottom with screws. Then I purchased some aluminum angle 8’ for under $3 for the inside of the box to reinforce it for strength. Lowe’s had the hinge bracket for like $2.50. For some cheap upgrades the box is now worthy and likely strong enough to hold lots of ammo. Otherwise for strength I think the staples alone on the bottom would work loose. I used some tung oil to seal it and that gives it a “golden” color appearance. Mine did arrive with a chip in were it was nailed and it split. I used JB wood glue and it worked very well to repair. The staining was even and nice. For the money it’s a good value and I enjoyed adding my own personal touches. Next time I go Lowe’s H/W store I’ll look for a knob to put on the lid.

Absolutely love this box!!!! The picture on the front (we choose the wood ducks) is amazing beautiful. The handles are not very deep so I would imagine it would be hard to pick up if you really filled this box up with ammo and made it very heavy (you have to pick it up with your finger tips if you use the handles). We are actually using this box for more of a decorative purpose. It is actually sitting in our entertainment center in our living room and it holds all the millions of remotes that we have (its perfect for that!!!). I would highly recommend this box for anyone looking to add little beautiful, rustic, functional decor to a room. Shipping was also extremely fast and the box was packaged very well.

I really like the traditional look of this box. I have started to try to get all of my ammo organized and thought this would be a good way to get started. It is well made and I love the design and the fact it is made out of wood. Some of the nails were not flush with the wood and caused a few scratches and a slight gouge, but honestly, it wasn't that bad, it just added to the old fashioned look of the box and did not effect the functionality at all. I am going to get a small hasp and lock to install on it for a bit of added security. I might also look for a box that comes with a locking mechanism. Overall, this is well worth the price.

I ordered this item to store my musket loading gear in, and was expecting a fairly good box that would be good for the purpose. When the box arrived, I was more than pleasently surprised. At least to me, this was put together by a craftman. The thing that impressed me to start was how heavy the wood was. Not some 1/2 inch pine slat, but wood at least a inch thick, and instead of screws or nails, all sides were dovetailed in neatly, to show they knew what they were doing. It also has a nice set of brass hinges Needless to say, my wife was very impressed also. Now, I have a delima. I consider it more worthy of being a musket gear box, and will reserve it for some suitable use, to be decided by either me, or my WIFE Luckily for me, Amazon has a heavy duty platic box just for this purpose and have ordered it

I am very impressed with this box. It is usable as an equipment box or for any supplies. It is sturdy and we'll made.
