ACUPWR's AJ-1000EUD model is an American-made step down voltage transformer that converts AC voltage from 220-240 volts to 100 volts, and from 100 volts to 220-240 volts. This allows appliances and electronic devices that require 100 volts, such as those used in Japan, to operate in countries with a 220-240-volt, and vice versa. The AJ-1000EUD has a guaranteed load capability of 1000 watts (VA) and will go 20-percent beyond that number thanks to our Tru-Watts TM technology, which uses a thermal protection sensor for overload protection and safety; when the transformer overheats due to wattage or voltage overload, the unit will automatically shut off and restart when it cools down.
