Sophie Quire and the Last Storyguard: A Peter Nimble Adventure (Volume 2) (The Vanished Kingdom, 2) Review: Exciting for Upper Primary students - My 11 year old son loves this series, and he got me hooked as well. It's an engaging fantasy series that keeps children wanting to read. Review: This author has me sucked in! - Well, we started off with Peter nimble, which was definitely a hit, but I must say I liked this book even better. From the get-go the story was deep magical and so captivating. Me and my nine year-old enjoyed the book together and couldnโt wait for each chapter. We finished it today and weโre very sad that the story has ended.

My son loved this book.
My 8th grade son read this book and told me, "They need to make these books (Peter Nimble and Sophie Quire) into movies!" My son is not a avid reader - he'd rather play minecraft or watch YouTube videos, but he gobbled up this book in a few days and got 10/10 on his AR test (school quiz on the book). If you have a bright, but reluctant reader who enjoys a bit of fantasy, try this series.

Fans of Jinx will love Sophie!
What a delightful romp of a story! Sophie is a thoroughly engaging character set in a dystopian, magical setting looking more likely each day. The author's winks to the reader are charming and clever and will engage adults reading to their children and make children reading to themselves feel included in some inside jokes. This book is decidedly less creepy than the Night Gardener, but may be too exciting/ heavy for sensitive readers under 8 or so. I hope we hear more from Sophie and Peter soon!

Worth it
Love this book. My daughter was recommended this book during online classes. I decided to buy a hard copy because during the weekends, we could not access the book. When we look for it, we discover the authornhas two previous books. We bought them too. I would recommend thos reading for 10 and up.

I have read all of Auxier's books and this is my favorite. Every sentence pleasantly, perfectly builds on the last and propels the story forward. Such an enjoyable read. The book has a great, strong, young female lead. Most importantly it tackles the huge theme of the magic of storytelling, and its importance in our lives. I could not recommend this enough for young readers and adults alike.

Great adventure!
I was drawn to this author, Jonathan Auxier, because he is from Pittsburgh and so am I. This story is captivating and very imaginative. I spent years working in an elementary school library and enjoy pre-reading any new books for young people before passing them on to granddaughters or donating to the school. This is one that I whole-heartedly recommend.
